Apologies if there's already a thread on this, I didn't search too much.
What are everybody's experiences with the free drinking water? Last year due to our failure to hit up Wal-Mart before getting to Roo (the Machester one was totally inaccessible by the time we got there and the traffic patterns were set), I ended up buying a ton of gallons of water at the general store at $7/ea. I did this because I remembered the water having a horrible rotten-egg (sulfur) smell from previous years, and I'm picky about water.
By Sunday I realized I had spent something like $70 on water, which is absurd, and was running low on money. So I reluctantly decided to bite the bullet and refill my camelbak at the water station... and I couldn't taste the difference! So I felt a bit dumb for wasting money.
I don't know if the water actually improved or if I just remember it being nasty, or for some reason the water station I was near was better than others... thoughts?
I don't mind the well water at all. Some think it tastes a little funny, and it may have a little sulfur in it, but there are no bad health effect. I always refill with well water while I'm in Centeroo.
As I posted previously, there are many volunteers willing to donate water to those shuttling in on the Helping Hands Thread (sorry if I get repetetive)
That smell just means that is good 'ol country water. I'm sure its better for you, its gotta have some more minerals and vitamins in it. But I guess that I'm just use to is living in the country and drinking well water most my life.
