Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
I'm using a power inverter attcahed to a spare battery. Bulky but cheap if you have the right parts laying around.
You may already know this but you need to figure the amount of power you need and see the power rating of the unit. Most units will give AmpHours so if you know the amperage of what you're running you can easily figure the hours it will run. Then you can size the power source. Always get one that's 20%-50% larger than you need to account for the efficiecy of the unit.
I've never personally owned one but I've heard the B&D ones are okay especially for smaller one.
Here's a decent site for calculating the amperage for christmas lights if this is what you're running. (Mini-lights are about 1 amp for 300 lights)
You could go with a less expensive marine battery and a 12 to 120 volt converter. I've seen a bunch of 12 volt products more and more in the last year - fans, lights, cooking stuff, coffee makers that are designed for the RV / Trucker community.
I just bought a 12 volt refrigerator/freezer for various camping travel adventures.
