ok so i went to see stone temple pilots last night and i have to say they are a shadow of what they used to be. I wasn't planning on going but had the opportunity to get in for free and i had nothing else to do so i went. Anyways compared to when i saw them last which was April 20, 2002 this show was horrible granted the last time i was 4th row in front of scott weiland and they opened with shine on you crazy diamond but then scott really owned the stage now he just seemed to ruin every song they played. i felt as if i was watching a cinderella reunion or a bad boy band on stage. the setlist was good as it was...
big empty wicked garden big bang baby silvergun superman vasoline lounge fly lady picture show sour girl creep crackerman plush interstate love song tool cool queenie coma down all in the suit sex type thing sin
encore dead and bloated trippin on a hole in a paper heart
anyways i just wanted to express my that my opinion of a band that i once loved has now changed and i'm ashamed as i feel as it's my fault for going to a show that i knew wasn't going to be as good as before
I have to disagree, I saw STP a few nights ago and thought they were really good. Scott sounded fine and the band was on fire, I dont know if they had an off night when you saw them but they were great when I saw them. Then again im a pretty casual STP fan so I didnt go in with great expectations or anything.

yeah it was pretty much just scott the ruined it for me because he wasn't singing the way he used to like the parts in coma that are kinda ruff sounding he made them sound very soft and melodic which just isn't supposed to be. the band did sound good but you could tell they really didn't rehearse much before the tour because they weren't as tight as they used to be. the setlists if no one knows are picked by the fans before the show so maybe some songs they just didn't practice beforehand but regardless i felt like this was scott really has just lost his ability and is just a shadow of what he used to be.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Just saw these guys at Red Rocks last night. I was very impressed. I have never seen them back in their glory days, but the show certainly exceeded my expectations. Scott sounded good and the band was really good! Maybe they are getting better as the tour goes on...
