Just a heads-up to anyone interested: the national spelling championship is today and tomorrow.

The Quarterfinals air live on ESPN360.com from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. EDT on Thursday, May 29.
The Semifinals air live on ESPN from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 30.
The Championship Finals air live on ABC from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 30.

although i was no champ, i got pretty far into the finals in third grade.
i got out on buffalo. spelled it with only one f.
i usually catch the reruns of the spelling bees. i think that some of the kids are so cute when they get flustered and whatnot.
i'll try to tune in tomorrow! i also went so far as to check the website and see who's representing louisiana.

I still firmly believe I should've been in one of these spelling bees. I was like a savant at that age; I knew how to spell words like 'paeleontologist' and 'miasma' at age seven.
