I bought the zephyr and the o2 cool last year. I ended up giving away the Zephyr cause it sucked so much. The foam fan blades barely move any air. Huge disappointment in the bonnaroo heat. The 02 cool was awesome and i ended up buying another one for this year. I put batteries in it last year and connected it to a car battery / inverter. Bringing a car battery and inverter is really the best deal, you don't have to run down your cars actual battery and you can charge cell phones, cameras, and power the fans all weekend.
We bought a 1500/3000 watt inverter. Should we start the car and let it run a couple of times a day to ensure we don't run down my car battery (since bringing an extra battery isn't an option)?

Most likely, the first year I brought my inverter i ran the car for about a half hour just to make sure it was maintaining charge. The other thing to make sure you do is to bring a set of jumper cables just in case. The first year I started the car next to us twice because they were running a bunch of stuff off of their inverter. With such a high wattage inverter you might want to do it a few times during the weekend just in case.
I have 2 of those 10" O2 fans that I hope will do some magic. But I will say, 32 D batteries (yeah, 2 sets for each fan) are fracking expensive (and heavy)!

How long do the 4xD batteries in the Zephyr fans usually last?
According to the manufacturer it's: Approximate run time is up to 24 hours on HIGH or 48 hours on LOW
but I wanted some inside opinion before I packed extra batteries or anything.
i bought 4 regular energizer batteries for it last year, used it all weekend during the night and some during the day, some last fall to dry some stuff, and turned it on last week and the same batteries from last year STILL RUN IT FULL BLAST.....im still gonna bring a fresh pack tho...
