I know someone who when camping put a revolving light at the top of a tp like tent so they could always find their campsite. I don't think it's necessary.
I'm wondering if VIP is fairly well lit since it's so close to everything. I'm definitely bringing a headlamp for late night forays to the portapotties, though!
VIP is pretty bright. and they put up portable lights randomly through-out the camping areas (usually around the porto-potties) As far as a light on your flag pole or anything, I don't know, I am very good with directions, even when the corn has taken control of my mind, so I don't worry too much, but other more directionally challenged people might need more help.
GA is well-lit as well. I never had a problem and even went to the bathroom without a flashlight. I had to be a little careful getting out to the road from the tent because of lines and such, but there are large lights every so often that keep the place fairly illuminated
I bought a head lamp at REI during their anniversary sale to be prepared for anything. We had some leftover light sticks that I'll toss by the tent for any real late excursions, to make finding it easier.
