yeah...i know this has been asked before...i just suck and can't find it....i'm lagging behind and am about to go "last minute shit i need for bonnaroo" shopping (ie: tent and all the other shit...obviously this is my first time)...so i'm wondering how much room i actually have to deal with...obviously i don't expect to fill up every square inch i'm just wondering how much room i actually have (for my tent...maybe a little canopy area, etc.....)

the short answer is: more than enough.
really, tent, shade tent, your vehicle, a bunch of chairs... you can park an A class RV in one of the sites, and still have some room.
I thought it was 20 x 50 (not confirmed by Bonnaroo, I shot them an e-mail and they sent an auto response with no answer about size of site at all) we are 4 people with two tents, a 12 x 12 EZ up and a van. Will we fit? Also, since my friends will be arriving seperate by shuttle, can we use their parking pass to "save" the site next to us?
Here's our setup from last year. In VIP the ground is marked (as seen in the pic) and we used all of our alloted area for one vehicle, one shade tent, and one regular tent (with a pop-up over it):
This is my site last year. There never ended up being anyone in the space next to us. One of the VIP ambassadors was parking there. I'd say 15' x 30' sounds about right. But there seemed to be plenty of room to spread out.

The thing is there are going to be a few of us in VIP. If we get near each other as planned then the lines wont really matter... I'm bring the monstro-tarp that is big enough to cover on VIP spot by itself. If we join up and us it for a base we can create the Taj ma'tarp and create a massive shade structure.
We have friends coming in on the shuttle later in the day. Can we use their parking pass and get two spots? One for our car and use theirs to save a spot next to us? They have a big tent and we won't all fit.
Do they need their parking pass if they won't have a car? Do they take it at the airport or anything? Does anyone have any experience using someone else's pass? We will be two people in a car, and they will be getting there pretty late. We would like to all camp together. This is a huge concern for us. It has been planned all along to be together, and we thought the VIP camping spots were a little bigger. We won't even use the whole two spots, so someone near us can borrow some! Any help? Thanks everyone!
I've flown the past two years and taken the shuttle. They let us camp pretty much wherever we wanted to go. I've never tried meeting up with someone who got there earlier, but don't sweat it. They are very relaxed in VIP with the parking and set up. Besides, nobody seems to know what's going on. If you can't grab an extra space when you first get there..... wait a bit then move. Most likely no one will hassle you.
Others, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the car pass is used at the check-in in order to give you a sticker for your car so the guards can wave you through each turn through the neighborhoods (othewise you will be turned away) toward the VIP entrance. Your friends will need theirs to get on the property as well. I would hope that you can pull in, park, and reserve the spot next to you, explaining that you have friends meeting you there and it's for them. I really have no idea how anal they will be about parking after last year's RVs-next-to-cars mess, though, so you may want to just chill at the check-in and pull in with them.
Thats what I was thinking. Why would they need the parking pass? Sorry I started a new thread. I needed to get an idea soon as we will be getting together for the last time and I wondered if taking their parking pass would mess them up in some way! Thanks for all the help!
I have a VIP RV pass, but no RV. Do I have to do something special to be able to go to the VIP camping area? Can I just pretend I don't have the RV pass and go to the campground?

tbird, There is someone over in the VIP ticket pickup/entrance questions thread that has the exact opposite problem as you. You may wish to contact them to find out if you can swap parking passes.
so, we screwed ourselves and we wound up with 4 VIP tickets but no VIP pass for our RV, and VIP is now sold out.... has anyone here heard of them selling the RV passes at the VIP gate?
Thanks for the message. I emailed the person who needed the RV pass. If I can't hook up with someone, do you know if I need a special VIP parking pass or will the VIP RV let me into the VIP camping zone? I don't want to trade with someone and end on the short end of the stick.
4 of us are going in one vehicle. So is it one 15 x 30 spot per vehicle (ie. 4 of us in that spot) or is it one 15 x 30 spot per pair of VIP tickets (ie. we get two 15 x 30 spots)????
We always use enough space for our tents and offer the common/shaded areas to our neighbors. It creates a community atmosphere and has worked out great every year I have went. In the pic above we combined camps with our neighbors, used our 50ft tarp and created a large patio area with lights, chairs, rug etc...
Your only going to run into problems if you take too much space and dont want to share with the others around you.
I'm hoping none of my neighbors decide it's cool to take up part of my site as long as they offer common areas. I'm devising a somewhat specific layout and I'd be pretty peeved if someone decided to screw that up.
I'm assuming the people who went across the lines asked for PERMISSION first, right?
On a related note: are there any "officials" in the area who will be available to settle "border disputes"?
I have never had a problem. You going to have plenty of space for you tent and most likely plenty of space for your layout. I was giving an example if you have extra shit and plan on taking up too much space.
Yeah, you're probably right. For two sites, we have 2 Hondas (Accord and Element), a 3x8 tent, two larger (8x 10?) tents, a 10x10 easy-up, and a 9x13 screened-in canopy.
