how strict are they on bringing food into centeroo

You can bring all the food you want inside, just no un-sealed drink containers (and no beer, of course).

Basically, I've never seen anyone get denied for food. I guess I've never seen anyone try to bring in a three-course meal, but almost everyone brings in jerky or trail mix or something. A sandwich and chips is fine (and normal). You shouldn't have problems with getting edibles through the gates. Unless you're eating knives.

I never had any trouble, but then again I always just bring in granola bars/pop tarts/etc. I don't think it will be a huge problem though.

I'm with ya there. I don't understand the people that say it's too hot for them to feel like eating. Being hot has never made me less hungry. Sometimes those little pieces of paper make me less hungry, though.
