I live 5 hours from Bonnaroo on the Virginia/ Tennessee line. You will probibly be coming down I-81 right by my place. My family has a horse farm that joins a national forest and lots of room to camp or you could camp at any number of other cool places. Dollywood is cool and has rides and waterparks to play in, you could stop there.
I live in Nashville and would be glad to offer any suggestions on places to go, things to do, places to eat etc... Just need to get an idea of where you might want to stay (hotel or camping etc..) and some of the things you might want to see and I will get you directions as well offer some suggestions.
One place you should check out is Tootsies Orchid Lounge. It is a very small honky tonk bar but it is known for many of the singer/song writer legends who got their start there in the early days. You can go during the day or night but it does get a little crowded at night. It is also walking distance to the Ryman (original Grand Ole Opry) & 2nd avenue (various types of bars on 2nd).
Our plans are to drive as fast as possible to Manchester, without getting pulled over. No stops, were bringing bedpans. Well, maybe a stop to get some fireworks.

Well i was going to go straight up but now i'm taking some extra time off.. I wanted to stop and see an Atlanta Braves game but they'll be away at the time. Thought maybe of going to a strip club for a few hours during the day with my friend. Sorry if that offends any of you.
Just wanted to stop in Atlanta for a few hours to do something. Take my time going up.
Our plans are that we have absolutely NO definite plans. My son & I are going to be on the road when I'm not too tired to drive, and resting when we hafta rest. Our lives are RULED by deadlines and schedules. I want to sit and have a meaningful discussion with my kid if I want. I want to play a game of cards or Sorry if we so desire. I don't want to have any schedules or deadlines dictating to us. I'm gonna love it! On the way back we plan to stop in Charlottesville, VA though (that's why I tacked on an extra day to my vacation leave).
the girlfriend and i are driving down from MA for the 2nd year in a row with a kick-ass roadtrip planned with the 'roo as the centerpiece...
this year starting in western MA on Wednesday the 9th and then heading to Cleveland to visit the R&R Hall of Fame (maybe an Indians game too). Then its off to Louisville, KY to visit the Louisville Slugger museum and other fun stuff. After that down through Nashville and ending up in Manchester sometime Thursday night. Three days of AWESOME music and then down to Chatanooga Sunday night. Then Chattanooga to Atlanta for some sightseeing then off to Athens, GA to visit family for a couple days. Then off to Virginia Beach for a day or two, up to visit some other family for a night in Salisbury, MD, Philadelphia for a day and then Atlantic City. Then its back home to MA after an awesome roadtrip.
Last year we did MA > Washington, D.C. > Knoxville > Nashville > Bonnaroo > Roanoke, VA > Baltimore > MA. Looking forward to even more fun this year!

Well bonnaroo is 2 weeks away and I have been rained out fo the last two weeks. I want to finish the painting on Willow but theweather has sucked. I still have a holding tank for the toilet that needs to be mounted, tune up, extend the rear bumper and build the deck on the back hook up the tachometer to keep an eye on the RPMs... Oh gawd! the pressure is on!!! On top of all of this I have a remodling job that I have to finish.
I'm ridin' down with a buddy I haven't seen in over a year so we'll be cathing up on everything since we last saw each other. Since I'd seen him last he'd grown dreads, got a new job, cut the dreads off, bought a jeep, and probably some other stuff.
