Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
During the brief time we had a temporary site, someone mentioned that they were leaving their gear and wanted to donate it to the homeless or similar needy cause. (Sorry I can't remember who it was and the info was lost when the "real" site came back online)
I just wanted to ask him/her and anyone else that might be leaving useful gear at Roo to PLEASE contact me to see if we can work out a way for me to haul it off to someone in need. I volunteer with many organizations that really need this type of stuff.
You can PM me through this site. Thanks in advance.
This is a great idea! The stuff we've seen left behind each year is amazing. If someone could set up areas to collect unwanted gear or leftover food I'm sure people would be happy to contribute. Better to be put to good use than hauled to the landfill.
I am actually surprised that Bonnaroo has not realized this yet. This would fit in very well with their greening efforts. They should have a place to drop donations off as you leave the grounds.
It is amazing to see the site after everyone leaves and to see all the good camping gear left behind.
Every year on Monday, when the site clears out, there will be a bunch of locals over there scaveging the site for good stuff. Hell, I have done it in the past and got most of my camping gear I use now from the roo site after eveyone leaves. I dont fool with it anymore cause I am too tired on Monday and it is usually hot as sh!t!
But yeah, there is a crapload of good stuff left every year!
Personally, I fly into Nashville (from Phoenix) and buy some gear in Nashville (chairs, ice chest, etc) before driving down from the airport- Last year I gave the items to my neighbors who were glad to add them to their stash of gear. I wouldn't feel comfortable just abandoning stuff. However - if there was a place I could bring the items when we were done to benefit a charity, I would definitely do that...
we could sure use some of this gear for our homeless population in nashville. if anyone can donate...or even drop it by our center in nashville if you live here..we sure need it. by the way ..we serve those who are disabled and homeless - they CANT work and they live in a legal area.

If you have some sort of place we can take it before I head out we'll have some tarps and other stuff at the very least. I'd rather hand it to you than leave it laying around or throwing it away.
I posted on this earlier, but my post disappeared. We are flying in and will be buying extra gear in Nashville. Can you post the address of a charity in Nashville to take extra gear? I don't want to have to leave it for someone to haul it off-site. Also, I can't go into a Wal-mart, any suggestions on where to pick up a couple of chairs?
if no one else needs it...the nashville rescue mission needs snacks and water. if anyone has extra that they dont need to haul back...they need it. perhaps troo also has some folks who need it or someone else...but lets not let it go to waste?!

we found TONS of stuff left over last year.
I was pretty stoked to get free gear, but was a bit disheartened that Roo goers would just leave behind stuff for the cleanup crews just to throw away.
I'll be in Handicapped Access camping flying a lime green flag with a rooster/chicken on top if anyone wants to just stop by with gear. I'll have better direction at Brunch.
