This will be my first Roo and I searched and couldn't find the information I was looking for. I recently bought a Camelbak and want to know if I'll be allowed to take in into the actual concerts. I really just want to have some water on me so I don't have to buy bottled when I get to the shows. I bought the Camelbak specifically for Bonnaroo but a friend told me I won't be able to use it outside the camping area so it would be useless. Any information would be great. Thanks in advance. I'm sorry if this has already been covered by the way.
Only once out of all the times I've gone to roo have I been told to empty my pack. (I've been every year but the first) Most of the folks working don't care. Just walk up with your bag opened and show the security what's inside and you'll get though with no hassle. I always suggest having everything opened for them this way they look to close.

Thanks for the replies. I'm definitely glad to know my Camelbak will not go to waste. I was a little worried about having to pay $5 for bottled water! Karma to you.

wait... i'm confused now.
This might be the dumbest question ever.... but it sounds like you aren't allowed to bring water bottles in... do they have to be empty before you bring them in? Is there any way to smuggle liquor into Centeroo?

Water bottles have to be sealed to be brought into Centeroo. They pat you down and check your bag. I am sure people sneak it in, but you will see all of the people who got caught emptying there bottles out.
I have never had a problem in 3 years with my Kelty Hydration pack. Just have you bag open and have a good attitude. If someone is gonna hassle you over actual water, just say no thanks and turn around. Find someone else who isnt an ass.

yeah, a flask is a good idea, but where would you put it. If they pat you down, you can't tape it to your leg. And if they search your bag you can't put it in there.

Drink clear liquor. How hard is it to get the cap off a bottle of water without breaking the ring? Get little water bottles. Ziplock freezer bag in the shorts. Wrapped in an Ace bandage on your knee on ice....... you can do it!!!
If you tuck the hose coming out of the Camelback into the backpack part, they normally don't notice and make you empty it. This has been my experience.

Mine also....Don't keep the hose out when going through security.
