I'm flying to FL to meet up with my crew and then we're driving up 75 through GA. I'm basically just planning on getting a bunch of MGD and the like. One of the friends I'm going with has been checking local beer prices near him and has reported that cases of this ilk of beer go for around a little under 20. However, another friend of mine said that he had been driving through GA a few months back and had come across 30 packs of Miller Lite, MGD, etc for like 13 bucks. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, is it like special beer depot type places you have to hit or is it like that everywhere? If it's special beer depot places, where oh where are they?

I just got back from a camping trip 2 weeks ago up in GA. I stopped for gas at a regular truck stop off of I-16 and they had 30 packs of Miller Lite, I don't remember the price, but I know it wasn't 13 bucks, I would've bought the store out for that price. I do think it was around 20 or so, still not a bad price for 30 beers.
My bet would be, if you have the time to stop and pick up beer in GA, do it. I know it's not going to get any more expensive than beer prices here in FL and you might find a really good deal.
And I already checked it out for the way back, but there is a Total Wine, right off of 75 on the way up there on the north side of Atlanta. If you've never been to a Total Wine before it is a candy store for alcoholics, every kind of beer, alcohol, and wine you can think of. I plan on stopping there on the way back to pick up sweet water and other brews to bring back home.

South Georgia on I-75 between Tifton and Macon is full of truck stops, strip clubs, and beer warehouses. You obviously won't be able to comparison shop, but if my memory serves me correctly, there's a lot of crap off the Perry, GA exit. Good luck...

Thats what 30racks are priced at up here in NY. Natty, Best Ice, Keystone, Busch, High Life... all right around $13. I wouldn't be surprised if thats more or less a standard price for a dirty 30.
