What is everyone using to attach flags at there campsite? I have always wanted to do that but I can't seem to cheaply and easily do it. I have seen kits online for portable flagpoles but they are 50 bucks and I can't justify spending that to use once a year.
Ther are threads with lots of ideas on here if you search. I just use 3/4" PVC pipe, cut it down to haul it and glue it with PVC cement when I get there.

go to wal mart....go to the fishing section. Look for a 13' Pan Fishing Pole. They are these super compact telescoping poles with no line loops just one at the top. These are like 6 bucks and they will hold a nice light flag nicely. I had one last year and wrapped the bottom with a towel and lashed it to the window pillar of my car....worked great.

I used a telescoping golf ball retriever found at WalMart for under $10. On top of an aluminum pole, it was approx 20' and supported a small Texas flag just fine.
