I'm sure that many of you have waken up after a few hours of sleep due to the sun's rays slow roasting you in your tent. Is there a good way to keep your tent cool so that you can get a couple extra moments of sleepy-time?
The obvious answers are 1) separate shade structure over the entire tent and 2) a tent fan (or two).
Target sells a really cool Coleman tent fan with a built-in light that attaches to the roof of any tent-like structure with the use of a powerful magnet. The fan has 2 speeds (although I doubt "low" will get much use) and the light has a blue LED option as well as a low "night-light" option. it runs on 4 D bateries and costs $25.50.
The Coleman fan that Carligula described is $19.99 at Wal-Mart.
I tend to wake when it gets too hot, wander into Centeroo for some breakfast and then nap again in one of the tents or under a tree. That way I also beat the noon time gate rush.

Does anyone know if that tent fan by coleman is any good for roo? I know coleman makes quality stuff but the foam blades seem like the air flow would be weak.
That tent fan is the bomb. I just used it this passed weekend at a skydiving event in SC. It topped 100 each day and the fan made it bearable. Get two.

I'm skeptical of the foam fan blades too...my wife got me one of those coleman fans and I just don't see it being as effective as the ones with hard blades. I will be bringing an extra sun shade for over the tent however, and I am going to try the emergency blanket under the rain fly trick I heard someone mention...it can't hurt
The Coleman tent fan is awesome - we used it last year and - at the moment - it is hanging in my garage where it gets used alot - it is nice because it can hang like a ceiling fan in the tent
