In my group of 3 dudes we are going to have an Acura MDX, a 11x8 canopy and 15x9 tent. I know there is no definite campsite areas, but is it going to be a huge problem to put all that stuff up? We are leaving all our morals behind to save room.
That's probably going to be a bit much for most campsites, given that you only will have 1 car's worth of space. You might luck out and be on an end or have neighbors who don't have much stuff but I wouldn't count on it.
^^Agreed. The tent will likely take most of the camp site and you'll have to set the canopy up wherever possible. Hopefully some covering the tent and some left to provide shade for chairs and the like.
But camp size does vary so maybe you'll have room. Or you can share your shade with your neighbors.
Hmmm... after reading this thread, i'm a little concerned. We just bought a 11x13 tent as it was the only one that was in our price range and available at walmart today (our other tent option fell through). We also plan to have a 10x10 shade canopy. Will this be a problem? I didn't think it would, but now i'm not sure..
There are 4 people in our car, though I suppose that doesn't matter..
like troo said, might be a little tight. that's an awful big tent. but it might work. set it up fast to get the space. or meet your neighbors and maybe they'll share... maybe.

there is always plenty of room. just get out and set it up fast (without being an asshole) and talk to your neighbors, noone is going to tell you no unless you are being intrusive.

I've been pretty worried about this too, we borrowed a tent from a friend, but it's a monster (18x10) and we'll have a 10x10 canopy. We'll have 3 cars total in our caravan, and one of them won't have a canopy, so I'm hoping we will all be able to squeeze in. I feel kinda bad having such a huge tent for only 2 people, but didn't want to go out any buy a new smaller one since this one won't cost us anything, but I'm still going to feel like a land hog rolling that sucker out.

Yeah, I still might run out and get a smaller tent. It's been my main topic of pre-roo worrying. We didn't have any problems with the McMansion tent at Summer Camp, but that was all tent-only, so we weren't spilling over into anyone else's space.
if you can afford it, do it. especially since there's only 2 of you in it. you'll have more hang out room not to mention your neighbors will be alot happier!
