I wonder if I should wear the light-up mushroom costume I wore for their epic Bonnaroo set? Hmmmmm.
GAH! It rained so hard that night I must have missed you! Its not like me to miss glowing mushrooms in the nighttime! hehehe
That was an amazing crowd at the start and it dwindled when it was downpouring! I got that set downloaded and I also drove back to Canada on the Sunday/Monday to Hit up MMJ in toronto (Hence the picture of my scruffy husband with Jim James a few pages ago in this thread) So I received the soundboard recording from toronto and Jim James talkss all about the torrential downpouring at Roo and there were a few Roo people there. In the background you can hear my hubby yelling "BOOONNNNNNNNNAAARRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

Just wanted to put this out there for anyone that still needs tickets or is looking to upgrade. I know I will be trying to get the general admission seats which will mean I will have to try and sell my pair in sec. 103. Oh well, it will be worth it to snag the floor. I'll just miracle someone that night of if I can't get rid of them.
My Morning Jacket is pleased to announce that Madison Square Garden has just made excellent seats available for the New Year's Eve show.
Beginning Wednesday 11/19 at noon EST, they will be available for purchase. These tickets include General Admission floor tickets, as well as great locations throughout the arena.

For me it was a no brainer since the person I was going to go with now can't attend so i'll be flying solo. Even when your alone, if your in ga your never alone. Except now I have a pair in sec. 103 I have to get rid of.
I'll see what I can dig up...the lights are hard to see in the pics, but viciouscircle spent many hours making the hats and then hooking up the battery packs! Chef, mine got soaked after standing in the rain for 4+ hours for MMJ, but it was working when it dried out.
Okay...I'm looking for a single GA/PIT ticket for the New Year's Eve show. This ticket is for a friend traveling in from Chicago. If you can help, please be in touch!
Also, Ticketmaster released more tickets today. I scored two floor seats in section F. Yay for not having to bend over to scalpers!!!

Hi, I'm Maggie - the friend Sass referred to above. I bit the bullet and got a GA PIT ticket through a scalper site, so I'll see you all there! I CANNOT wait!
Jerzee, I'm into the pre-party as well. Thanks for setting it up!
(oh...by means of introduction, I've lurked here on and off, but I'm hoping to *finally* make it to the Roo in '09! If I do, you'll see me around here a bit more )

Welcome aboard! Is this the same avocadolady from the ACL board?
Just rarely. I went to ACL this year and made a few posts here and there. I was going to stop by the meet and greet, but me and the gf got too distracted sight seeing. I was the guy Sass was looking for this year, but we never caught up. :-(
I may go back next year, but it is depending on the line-up. I did like the festival for the most part, except for the fact there are only two major acts that play at the same time, which mades it a pain to get close enough to see and hear the show. With Bonnaroo there are more conflicts, but it doesn't seem as though you have fight that hard to see what you want. That is my small complaint about ACL. Loved the atmosphere and the people.
Getting back to MMJ stuff. I didn't have any plans myselff to dress up, but them more I think about it them more I may want to. I have no clue what to even dress up as if I do though. I guess I will sleep on it.
*edit- ^^^I love the pics! You should so wear that on NYE!

Looks like I'll be going as well... I was talking to one of my good friends and asked him if he wanted to go to the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, and he said he was going to this with a couple other old friends, so I'm taking up the offer...
After four lost chances to see this band, I think that this is finally gonna be it. That and I've never been to MSG before, and NYC is awesome, and it's New Years. Couple that with a band like MMJ, and you have the recipe for an amazing and potentially historic party.
So, I guess go ahead have my name ready for the list.
DJ, put me and the Mr. down for the pre-party in Astoria!
Will do!
Also, here is the updated list that I have made on the main page. The people in green are the ones that have shown interest or definitely going to the NYE pre-party. Idioteque is making a list simular to this, but has more details such as how many people you are going with, where you are coming from and where you are sitting(or standing):
Hey Jerzee! Yeah I am a pretty conservative person for the whole costume thing and the first time at Roo I was really walking around holing my mouth shut cuz some of the costumes were hilarious! I hadn't really seen costumes for a festival before (I hadn't been outside Canada until my first Roo for a festie)
But I think that there will be a boatload of people dressed up! My hubby is pretty conservative and I think he is looking for a long tailed turn of the century Tux to wear! hehe I was thinking Angel with nice real feathered angel wings but now I'm thinking turn of the century hat and wig, GAH just not sure.
Sassbox! That is a Crazy hat! Those are absolutely great! I think maybe hubby and I should drive to Ottawa to check out the official "Halloween Store" there. I believe but not positive that I met you at the Inforoo Brunch lastyear or maybe the year before. I was with Hippinaustin and Nshvillbound.
Mothersky- that Warren Haynes Christmas Jam really looks like a great time. I was stunned when I saw the lineup. I wish I wasn't so far away!

I have a peacock feather headband that wants to come out and play on New Year's. I'm not sure what I'd wear with it, though. As idioteque noted, it'd have to be something suitable for rockin'.
^You would stand out, thats for sure I am still looking through costume sights myself. I am just looking for something simple. I may just settle for some kind of hat or simple mask that won't suffocate me or obstruct my viewing.
