Did you have any celebrity encounters this weekend?
Here's my funny story. I was standing in line at the VIP bathrooms and spotteed a familiar face in the line next to me. I did a double take and then realized it was Amy Grant.
Yes the "Baby, Baby" Amy Grant of 90s fame. My Mom listened to Amy Grant constantly while I was growing up so I had to get a picture with her. So I waited til she was done, approached her and asked for a picture.
Enjoy the squintiest most horrible picture of me ever with the one and only Amy Grant after she just pooped

No pic because her camera batteries died, but my 16 year old saw Wayne Coyne in the cinema tent on Saturday evening. She was VERY excited but was too shy to actually talk to him. She didn't know at the time he was there to introduce his movie later that night.
I saw a girl who looked like an Olson twin up front during Ben Folds but I thought she just looked similar. Now I wonder...
My only true run-in was seeing Glen and Marketa from the Swell Season walking around on Saturday. They took a pic with me. I hated to bug them but he mentioned just going for it when on stage the day before so really he has no one to blame but himself, hehe. Plus it was only 30 seconds. They were really nice about it.

Eugene Hütz of Gogol Bordello was in line behind me at the ferris wheel, canoodling with a female companion. They put four people in each cart, so they tried to put two random girls in with them. After some discussion and debate with Hütz and security, during which I assumed Hütz said he wanted the car private, the girls left...but then security just put two guys in with them! Hütz didn't seem to have a problem with them, and away the four went. Still haven't figured why the first group was rejected.

I saw the girl from Arrested Development at !!!. She got kicked out of the press pit because she didn't have the right pass.... I also saw a few of the guys from Gogol Bordello watching Iron & Wine
My wife and I decided to take one of the festaxi's on saturday because she has MS and cannot walk far. Her cart was having problems in the mud. The people from the festaxi said the ride is free for access if going to the access center or access entrance. So we hop on one the driver had no clue where to take us so she looked at the map and got confused. Finely some how we ended up back stage between What and Which. We looked up and we were in the artist area. Looking around we noticed Eddie Vedder, BB King, a few people from Go Go, I think Jack Johnson was doing an interview, and a few other people we wasnt sure but think may have been catpower. We were standing their amazed and someone came up and told us we didnt belong here and got kind of crappy with us but then another person came by and said that has happend before and he is going to call the festitax people and yell at them that they dropping there people off at the wrong spot. One of the staff excored to What stage access via the artist entrance. We were stoked all day after that.

I passed Eloise from Lord T and Eloise walking across the grounds after their act. I also passed right by comedian Brian Poshun? at the field at That Tent
I also saw members of UM cruising around on carts! Saw several of the comics bouncing around. Got a pic with Zach Galifianakis. He didn't seem to be pleased to be taking it. But he probably shouldn't have been mingling with us common folk if he didn't like that. Funny guy though.

You wouldn't happen to be talking about the one that plays Maybe (David Cross' daughter on the show), would you? I definitely saw a girl who looked like her over the weekend but figured it wasn't her. Looks like I might've been wrong
I met Beatle Bob! He was a really nice guy and I love how he dances

Brian Posehn was the passenger of a golf cart that drove past me while I was walking behind the fences where the keg trucks were (between Which and What Stages). I quickly said hello and he just waved.

Wow, seems like a lot of sightings this year. I'm SO jealous of the people who saw Eugene and Glen and Marketa. When I was watching the Swell Season webcast, I could just tell how much fun they were having, Glen especially, and I was thinking "I just KNOW they'll be spotted all over enjoying themselves this weekend!"

I was stuck working in the Cinema Tent late nights and got to spend some quality time with Mr. Wayne Coyne before he introduced his flick. . . but my experience with rock stars pales in comparison to some other's. . .
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
friends and I passed andy from UM leaving raconteurs with a girl, Bayliss walking around with a girl, AND stasik with a girl at Robert Plant. We also saw Les Claypool's guitarist with a funky hat. Lastly, we saw Brian Posehn at the raconteurs sampling some spliffs from random fans. yet ANOTHER friend of mine saw the chick from arrested development as well. I'd say it was a pretty star studded year.
I met and talked to the bass player from ALO Steven Adams. He was really cool, said that he was at the Roo to hang out and watch his buddy Zach (Gill) play keys with Jack Johnson...It was definitely awesome for me because I love ALO!!!
I was on a KOL hunt all weekend and found Nathan Followill outside the Troo Music Lounge Saturday afternoon. He was hanging out there before his fiance Jessi Baylin's set. He was real cool and I got I pic with him. I saw Nacho there as well.

MGMT came into This tent during Superdrag Thursday night before their show. My friends and I talked to them, but none of us had cameras or anything, so it was pretty relaxed. They were really friendly though!

I've interviewed and hung out with Steve before, he's cool as they come.

I actually thought I saw Wayne too, but dismissed it. Guess it may have really been him...
