I'm horrible at recognizing people, even celebrities or musicians. Our tents are directly behind What Stage, and every time we want to go anywhere in Roo, we have to take this backstage road. It takes you behind What and Which stage and we have to take it whenever we decide to leave the campsite, whether it's for a show or a run through GA. Anyway, we see pretty much everyone except the headliners on a frequent basis. My friends kept pointing out people passing us the first few days last year. I think the biggest we saw were the guys from MGMT. Tried to get a pic, but it was a damn fast golf cart
seriously. at coachella last year i was in the artist compound with some friends of mine and some of their friends just sitting around a table and we were all doing introductions and all of a sudden i'm shaking hands with Sheila E. didn't even register with me until about 5 minutes later...
Aziz, B and I were talking for a bit during Tiesto's set last year. From what I remember, he wasn't even slated to be onstage, but he said he was gonna make a guest appearance at some point during the weekend.
He's a funny dude, who can definitely dish out some sh!ttalkin!
I met phil lesh in 2006 right after matisyahu. He was in the crowd. We shook his hand, took a pic, and told him we looked forward to his show that night...
We also joked arround with the guys from "best week ever" outside of sonic youth.
dudes from ratdog minus weir, were in the crowd listening to the herbie hancock superjam.
No pic because her camera batteries died, but my 16 year old saw Wayne Coyne in the cinema tent on Saturday evening. She was VERY excited but was too shy to actually talk to him. She didn't know at the time he was there to introduce his movie later that night.
I was there too, and yeah, Christmas On Mars was awesome! I was just a few feet away from him, and then I got to see The Flaming Lips in Birmingham, AL the day I got back!
