This is an open letter to the jerk (well, really jerks - co'ed) who decided to go "pirating" (read: stealing stuff that other people worked for because you are a worthless a'hole) - and then cut through family camp at 6 in the morning - and got in a huge fight with someone trying to regain their rightfully owned stuff feet from where we were trying to sleep with our one year old.
Thanks dood. That was really cool. Thanks for coming into family camp. It was great for my husband and I to wake up to you and your girl talking about what else you could steal. And then for our baby to get woken up to you and the guy you had stolen from screaming at each other. It was very mature of you and the girl you were with to try to explain to this guy "hey, calm down - its called pirating... Its just a joke."
Well, dumb morons - its not a joke. Not to the people you stole from. Not to the families you bothered and woke up in family camp. And certainly not to me, my husband, and our kid.
You probably went back to your campsite and slept. We did not. Maybe you were pissed about Kanye - but get over it. Grow up. Stop stealing stuff. Treat bonnaroo and the people there the way they deserve - with respect and kindness.
And dammit - if you're going to be an a'hole, stay out of family camp!!

edit - thanks to Brian, who just so happened to be neighbored next to Camp Headstache while some common folk were trying to "pirate" our campsite during Friday latenight. I'm glad there were a few handful of kind folk that showed up to the farm this year!

A girl who camped with us got her bag stolen right out of her tent. Luckily nothing valuable was in it, but it did have all of her clothes.
Being a newb to roo this year I would venture to say that theft is not a reflection of one's festival going experience, but rather of their character as an individual. Thievery is not acceptable practice anywhere.

We are pretty sure my sisters bag got dumped and rifled through in our tent...there was nothing of value in it, but our neighbors got a bunch of beer stolen out of their cooler. Shitty people just take advantage of the craziness...always lock up your valuables...it sucks but the shady ones love an easy score. I wish people would use their talent to get what they want....roll up to my camp with a bad ass painting or come play me a song and I'll GIVE you a bunch of beer from my cooler, but I guess that would require some energy on the wook's part...I have no patience for those who take but don't give.
Wow... I'm glad I didn't notice any thieves at my campsite. I'm really sorry for you all, that's really sad and a great way to ruin anyone's weekend. Next year I'm leaving the Pod at home. I didn't want to carry it around everywhere because of the rain. I didn't want to lock it in my car because of the heat. I hated leaving it in my tent because of possible thieves. Who needs a pod anyways when I can get a cheap walkman radio and tune into Radio Bonnaroo!

If i caught the person stealing my stuff I would have shown no mercy. I'm a small guy so if I go after someone I will use whatever I can to get an advantage. Be it a baseball bat or a knife.
I'm normally against violence but when it comes to crap like this that is where I am all for whooping someone's ass.

Was this you guys at Jack Johnson? If so your baby was really cute and he looked like he was having a really good time. He was smiling at everyone (even if it was'nt you I'm sure your baby is relly cute too
