Ok... i know this may upset a lot of people...
BUT, I think GWAR woul be awesome to see at Bonnaroo. Their stage shows are so ridiculous that they would be amazing. I am not even the biggest fan of them, but I have seen them live once and it was a ridiculously awesome experience.
I know they would scare some people... maybe a lot... but does anyone that has seen them before agree they would be sweet there.
I mean, they're like a metal verison of KISS, but crazier.
Speaking of that, KISS would be fucking amazing at Bonnaroo... the craziest live show EVER... more pyro technics and lights than a firworks sho at the fourth of july... only show ive seen better than KISS was Tool and radiohead at the last 2 bonnaroos... and ive been to a lot of festivals and shows
OK let me think about this. Gwar, ummm no I don't think so. Kiss, that might actually be the thing that makes me quit going to Bonnaroo. I hate Kiss. They are a bunch of old, greedy, no-talent bungholes.
kiss is the last band i would want to see at bonnaroo and im a fan of their early albums. i don't think they'd take the offer either. as greedy as they are, they did turn down a huge offer to play woodstock 94.
They should invite Kanye West back next year and about ten minutes into his set have GWAR hi-jack the stage. Just imagine kanye covered in semen and slime

I'm with this, for sure. They have been one of my favorite bands for a long time and just a month ago I had the pleasure of seeing them live and they blew the lid off the joint.

My friends and i were just saying the same thing about how much gwar would rock , their show would be a killer late night treat ! I have seen them over 20 times and the roo would be great
my friend pointed this out to me from allmusic.com:
"The group claims to consist of all-powerful interplanetary warriors, descended from aliens stranded in Antarctica and initially created from the lowest filth in the universe, who have come to Earth to sexually enslave and/or slaughter the human race.
GWAR is best appreciated with its visual aspects, which are far more creative than their music; indeed, the group received a somewhat stunning Grammy nomination in 1993 for its long-form home video Phallus in Wonderland."
Look up Lordi. Similar idea, but MUCH better music, and really nice guys (I got to hang out with them on their 1st US tour).
I seen them at the free ozzfest last year and did nothing but laugh at them, they did have great Pyro but i just thought their stage presence was lame followed by their music

GWAR is terrible... that being said, they are amazing visual artists(albeit in a very vulgar way)
The time and energy they put into the visuals of their show have to be acknowledged, and actually I saw the lead singer(not sure of his name) being interviewed and he was very intelligent and well spoken.
I brought up GWAR in the campsite this year, and how ridiculous it would be if they playerd the 'roo...I'm pretty sure the freakout factor would have to be addressed...maybe they could have them in a tent with a big disclaimer poster out front.
Their music is terrible but I personally love to see as wide an array of acts as possible and they definitely embrace the creative spirit of Bonnaroo.
