The Bonnaroo grounds AFTER the festival. Just got these four. It's not like I could stop and take pictures without what was left of security telling me to move along.
That VIP Mound again! Hope you Very Important People got to enjoy the shows from the elevated hospitality tent! Hope ya'll enjoyed those catered meals too! I helped Spectrum with those on Saturday and Sunday.
This one here I believe is a look across the What Stage viewing area where tents on the right side of the stage in view.
A straightaway shot coming from the main gate. The arched building behind that large tractor off to the right is "That Tent." Behind the wall at the end of the drive is Centeroo.
The Bonnaroo Arch which was repainted especially for a 2008 look.
I was shocked at how quickly everything was gone. I took these pictures yesterday. It took 2 1/2 weeks to put up What Stage. It took four days to bring it down.
^Speaking of trash, I was glad to see not as much trash in general. Maybe it's just me, but nothing looked as bad this year as the What Stage after Tool in 07.

'Roo is really pushing environment preservation hard! I think the audience they draw in general are environmentally-minded people.
They need to find a way mid-crowd in the tents and stages to dispose of trash. Obviously, it needs to be something people can't stand on, though. I always hate to see all of the stuff on the ground after an act but I do understand that most people are not going to hold onto their trash for a couple of hours. (I do or, if I don't, I pick up twice as much as I drop and tosss it on the way out -- my own pennance, so to speak.)

haha also speaking of trash does anyone remember stepping over a layer of garbage and plastic bottles while trying to clear out of the main stage after pearl jam? all i could hear was crunch crunch crunch hehe. i yelled out "Yeah Clean Vibes!" poking fun at how little people helped clean up.
we got stuck in there for way longer than necessary too because people feared the mud puddle blocking the exit.

Last year I was gung ho about trash cleanup...this year I tried a few times a day to grab a few pieces every little bit helps and if everyone grabbed a couple pieces every hour or so it would be very clean quickly. This year was much better. It always made me shake my head when I would go to the Earth Day Birthay festival in Orlando and there is like a sea of plastic cups on the ground.

i saw numerous festival goers, that were picking up one and two random pieces of trash here and there. I did the same, and I must say, I felt like everything did seem a lot cleaner this year.

Those pictures make me sad!
I wanna go baaaaack!
Anyway, there seemed like a lot less trash this year, imo. We tried to pick up some at every show, and of course every time (except once) my garbage made it into the trash cans. We also left no trash at our campsite. Last year we were stuck picking up our neighbors' stuff because they left it all! So I'm glad this year everyone in our camp pitched in!
One of our neighbors left a perfectly good, slightly eaten bag of Doritos on the ground when they left. I almost cried when I had to throw it away. What a waste!

I remember in years past hearing all kinds of announcements about picking up trash and helping the Clean Vibes crew, but I don't remember hearing any this time around. Did i just miss it or did they cut out the announcements on the PA?

I still had to work on-site for a few days after the fest was over. I noticed the trash was getting picked up faster this year too. My speculation is that Clean Vibes had to get the hustle on in order to get on to Rothbury. Rothbury is supposed to be a super-green festival.
I love Bonnaroo but my biggest disappointment as this thing goes on is that people seem to get slobbier by the year.

I heard from a friend that clean vibes is not working Rothbury. They hired some corporate cleaning service instead I guess?

Yeah, I totally heard from a trusted inside source that Halliburton bought Rothbury. That's why clean vibes isn't going there. *snicker snicker*
Everyone is saying it was cleaner this year but for some reason I noticed trash A LOT more. I don't expect everyone to go out of their way but is it that hard to hold onto your water bottle and toss it out (or even better, keep it and refill it)? I always set my stuff down while at shows but was never so out of it that I didn't remember to pick it back up and dispose of things that needed it.
But okay, I guess I'm being a bit of a hypocrite because we left some stuff at our campsite. Hopefully things that could be awesome ground scores for others... just no room in the car!
