I recently got a job at a local concert venue as security but since they have so much personnel I don't get much work. I totally got screwed with this job because I payed 160 bucks for the training. I'm trying to find some kind of good job, obscure stuff that pays well, none of the mall type jobs. I have SORA certification so far I e-mailed 2 security job types, sent an app for sears security and filled out a NJ turnpike form that I need to bring in to them. Ugh...any suggestions?

Restaurants/bartending sucks, but you get cash every night you work in your pocket and it's often more money than you realize when you factor in the shitty hourly wage too. At a restaurant that was primarily a buffet (ie no work on my part much past filling drinks) I usually averaged around $10/hr in tips, then add in the $2.13 hourly wage... not bad.
But if you can't handle the biggest idiots in the world, then restaurants is no place for you to work, haha. Then again, if you're into security I guess you've handled your fair share of jackasses too then

What can I say, the job market is a total sh!t sandwich right now - especially for people around our age. I'm in the same boat; it's pretty humiliating when you can't even get your old job at Baby Gap back. I guess my advice would be to just bite the bullet and apply for some of those "mall type jobs" you mentioned. At least it'll be something to get you some spending money, and if you don't like it, you can keep applying to work elsewhere. Also, one last thing - personally, I like your hair, but not everyone will. Some places might cater to a more conservative crowd and not want someone with spiky green hair to work there. It shouldn't be that way, but it is - and I don't think anti-discrimination laws extend to a person's choice of hair color. It sucks, but that's just the way some people are. Best of luck with the job hunt.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

Go back to college and get your teachers or nurses degree. You will always have work. The only people who make any money in security are the supervisors with the Criminal Justice Degrees. Teachers (me) only have to work 180 days a year. Two months of vacation in Summer, 2 weeks at Christmas etc....you know the deal.
I agree that its pretty easy to find a serving job (waiting/bartending), at least compared to retail. And yeah it sucks a lot of the time, but at least for me the time goes by a lot faster than folding shirts, and after each shift you have money in your pocket. If you find the right place, that could be easily $100+ in your pocket in just one night. So if you need money now, any sort of tipped job is really what you gotta go with.
Ahh thanks all. First, I did cut my mohawk, I have a wedding to go to anyway. It will be back, mark my words. Second, I am in college aiming towards teaching or lawing, we'll see. and Third, thanks for all the suggestions. I happened upon a security firm that needed people that day, thank god my friend was with me because my urine test would have come up a little green this soon after bonnaroo. But yeah, I make 9.50 an hour 5 days/20 hours a week and I just started. Thats good for me but they said a lot of people are going on vacation soon so I can pick up more hours. The job itself is easy, but so boring. I sit in a warehouse and watch fed-ex load boxes from newegg.com so they don't steal.
