"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."
Interesting read. Good that he sees how the fans actually feel. I kind of feel like he is lying and leaving some things out though.
I'm reading the replies to his blog and it annoys me that his defenders can't use proper grammar.
"I HIT THE STAGE AND PEOPLE HAD BEEN THROWING SHIT ON THE STAGE AND HAD ACTUALLY HIT THE JANE SCREEN WITH, I GUESS BOTTLES OR SOMETHING AND HAD BROKEN MY FUCKING SCREEN. . . WHEN I GOT 2 "THROUGH THE WIRE" I STEPPED ON THE FRONT PART OF MY STAGE AND THERE WAS SO MUCH LIQUID ON THE STAGE I COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT SLIPPING." Good work, Bonaroo goers!! This makes me proud!

"I missed your show because you took 2 hours to get on stage. I wanted nothing to do with your show from the moment I saw your name on the lineup for Bonnaroo. I thought, why? I dont see your appeal to be very honest. I was dead set on missing this performance despite the rave reviews. This changed when I was at Bonnaroo. I decided to give you a shot, see what your live show is all about and I was hoping it would change my opinion on you as a performer and a person in general. It did not, you never showed up as far as I am concerned. I left the What Stage area when we realized your show was being pushed back indefinitely 15 minutes at a time while there are other performances going on. Blaming Pearl Jam in any facet is ludicrous, they were Bonnaroo's headliners deserved the stage until the sun went up, they earned it. If you are such an amazing MC or producer or whatever you define yourself as, fuck the light show. Get a mic and a beat and do it, stop hiding behind the light show."

And still people wonder why he would not at very least apologize...
"GOOD MORNING BONNAROO. YOU FUCKED MY SCREEN AND NEARLY CAUSED ME TO SLIP AND FALL ON MY ASS, BUT I'M SORRY YOU WASTED YOUR DRUGS, GLOWSTICKS, AND PRECIOUS TIME WAITING ON MY LIGHT SHOW LITE."
surely this would have been some consolation to the angry masses...

Um did Kanye really type this?! It looks like a grade school kid's diary. "This is the most offended I've ever been... this is the maddest I ever will be." REALLY? And does he feel that typing in all caps allows him to better convey his point? No wonder he has such a fixation on graduating from college. Also what's with the expectation that Bonnaroo make a statement on his behalf? They gave you a microphone and a stage... Pretty sure you could say whatever you felt needed to be said. The guy is a child. He has a undeserved sense of entitlement while refusing to accept responsibility. A GREAT producer and a good rapper, but mentally, a child. If he doesn't mature, he'll never find peace, and that is much bigger problem than missing a show.
Personally, I think you should not have played Bonnaroo if you did not have respect for the festival and its patrons. Obviously you did not since you never addressed them during your show. ALL other performers gave their true all, adjust to the environment and are confident in their artistic abilities and do not hide behind an elaborate stage presence. I cannot, however, blame only you as I think Bonnaroo made a mistake in booking you in the first place. Also, please address the Phil Lesh issue. In order to gain the respect of Bonnaroo fans, you have to EARN it, and making a member of the Grateful Dead end his set early (for the first time in his career) to appease your ego was WAY out of bounds.
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...

...it's all the guys fault for reminding me that we don't learn to count in college. I was just trying to give kanye the benefit of the doubt.... jeeeeeeez

totally agree with you on this...i honestly feel bad for him. i mean, here is this guy with tons of money and he will never truly be happy because in his eyes, the world should bow down for him...and sadly, that isn't how the world works...
i am so glad i didn't even try to see this performance...
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing. But I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepiatone loving Love is the answer
A little feeling in my gut that I get of late when I think about these cats running the world with hate

NEWSWEEK confirmed Kanye's suckage by placing him on this week's Dignity Index:
"At Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, hip-hop egotist Kanye West enrages fans by not starting his set until 4:25am. Yes, 4:25 in the morning."
However he only got 12/100 ("Mildly tacky") compared to the Mets massive 88/100 ("utterly shamless") for firing Willie Randolph at 3:00am after a victory.
ALL other performers gave their true all, adjust to the environment and are confident in their artistic abilities and do not hide behind an elaborate stage presence. .
ARE YOU TRYING 2 SAY KANYE DIDNT GIVE IT HIS ALL?! NEVER SAY HE DIDNT GIVE IT HIS ALL!!!!!! HE WILL GET MADDER THAN THE HISTORY OF MADDNESS OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
