i kinda have to say that i was disappointed with the fact that umph and sts9 only played 90 minute sets, but still awesome. the sts9 dance party was amazing.
after going to both myrtle beach and cary shows I'm now finally convinced that umph just can't cut it.. it's a huge "masturbation" fest, they don't have the talent nor the soul to be touring with tribe... umph should open for tribe instead and lets sts9 rock the fuckin house...
its not so much that umphreys arent talented its just that they are boring and annoying lately because they play way to much metal style, most of there jams now have deteriorated to 20 min wank fest guitar solo's. I guess i cant really talk to much tho since i left 15 min into their set but I started to dislike them after seeing a string of shows like that in late 06/early 07 before that I had seen some really great shows tho where they played a lot more jazzy,smooth, and psychadelicly

I like the heavier stuff, but I definitely understand what your saying and have heard a lot of unhappiness about the new songs. They still play the old school shows, but certainly not as much. I have actually always found it strange that Umphrey's likes to pair with electronic type bands, because I don't really think they share a similar fan base.
pnuma opened for them at the nyc PA set, but both pnuma and lotus have been on tour with tribe before and I think they both just wanted to do something a lil new and gain fans on both sides.

Hey guys. Looks some some more dates from Umphreys. They are playing three dates in Colorado in late Jan. I will going to the show in Denver, CO at the Fillmore on Jan 24th. It looks like Mantis tour so hopefully its a good album. Just wanted to let you fellow Coloradians know we have a trio of shows to choose from.
