I need all the positive thoughts in the next week that you can give me.
I actually do like my job even though I complain about it - but someone brought to my attention a job posting for a paralegal specialist with The National Guard and I am qualified for the job. I am ging to work on my application this weekend and transmit it to them on Monday.
It would mean a HUGE (did I say HUGE?) pay increase.
For those that understand the military and federal pay scale - it would jump me from GS 7 to GS 11.
I really want this job. It covers alot of stuff I have been doing for the past two years anyway - I know I have the skills they need and are looking for - it is still part of the federal system so there will be no prob transferring my benefits. It is just the perfect opportunity.
Of course, it would also mean I would not be here during the day......which is a big sacrifice for a postwhore - but I think I can handle the withdrawals if I had to.
Soooo - anyway - I would greatly appreciate any positive thoughts you can send my way over the next week or so. I want to at least be one of the top applicants that they consider for an interview. If I can get in there for an interview - I know I can impress them and hopefully get the position.

Good luck girlie!! Be positive about yourself and your skills and show confidence when you interview.
Don't forget to follow up with a quick email or phone call to say thanks for meeting with me and I am looking forward to hearing from you That worked for me in this job (which I really really wanted) and I am still here 4 years later.
o government job, that means you's got's to be clean
not like that would be a problem, but bummer
anyway, most certainly if you are qualified you shouldn't have any problem getting the job, especially if you show enough interest. I'm sure you'll do great. Good luck!

Nola - I work for the feds now....so it really is no problem
and Thanks everyone!!!!! I think the next few weeks will be a little nervewracking but hey - no matter what - it is a good experience and if I don't get this one - I'll get the next one I apply for. Onward and Upward!
On your point about liking your current job…Last year I did a similar move, I loved my old job but I got to be physically closer to my family. Some days I do miss my old people and place but am glad I made the decision!
