Who else would like to see MMJ headline a night at the 'Roo? Maybe not Saturday night, but I'd love to see them tear it up on the What stage on Friday or Sunday

MMJ on the What stage would be awesome. They deserve the headliner spot and if their year continues to be as good as it is right now they might be big enough to warrant the spot. I'd love to watch em
Them getting bumped to headliner 09 would be overkill to me. I'd most likely grimace, and it would seal the deal on me not returning to the farm. On top of a deep ass lineup next year, Bonnaroo needs 3 amazing headliners in order for me to run the 4 day gauntlet again, otherwise, no dice.
Like I said in the other thread, I don't think they'll headline the next time they play. I don't even think they'll be there next year; they'll likely skip a year again.
But the next time they play after the next time, I think there's more of a possibility of them headlining. Right now, they're definitely not big enough.
I want to see them at Roo in 09 DEF! But as a headliner?? idk...

As a matter of fact....not sure if that wouldn't kill the vibe in a way.....MMJ so ISN'T about headlining...Yeah....there would be more room to spread out....but MMJ is about INTIMACY - Not VOLUME......

25,000 people...in the rain...with three other shows going on at the same time. You're telling me that if Widespread Panic was in the same slot with the same conditions they would draw more?
The way the buzz around them has grown since It Still Moves, I would be very surprised if we don't see them close out the festival in the next few years.

I kinda agree, but I don't think there were even 25k at WSP, talk about dead. I'd like them to headline just so I could fricken catch them at bonnaroo.
Ditto. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some My Morning Jacket, and they're definitely good enough - I just don't think they're big enough. All the previous headliners seem to have a much wider fanbase, have more history, etc. I wouldn't mind seeing them headline, but there's a lot of acts of headliner caliber who I think could pull it off more effectively. I'm not saying it couldn't happen one year, I'm just saying that we should nurture the beautiful little flower that is MMJ and let it blossom for a while longer.
