^^^^I guess in some ways I can understand that but in other ways my mind is having a hard time wrapping itself around the idea of skipping a Crowes show

It was a difficult decision... but it would've probably resulted in 3/4 tank of gas ($30ish) plus tickets ($40ish) plus however much beer I got while there (probably another $30ish).
I just couldn't justify taking $100 out of my money saved for AllGood... I'd much rather put that $100 towards a date with lucy and maybe a fun guy here or there while sippin on some good brews on the mountaintop ;D
^^^ I hear ya - if I had to make that choice I prolly would have made the same choice - I think - maybe not - after all - this is Chris Robinson we are talking about.
I was at that Charlottesville show. They rocked. Grace rocked. She covered Sweet Virginia by the Stones and it was a highlight to my 4th of July weekend. Seeing the Crowes again in Richmond October 5th or 6th ... I gotta look at the ticket again. And with Howlin Rain. That's gonna be a good show as well.
For the first time since setting the date I almost regret going to Vegas for the wedding. Perhaps I can pull some strings ... That is gonna be an awesome show. Too bad I will be across the country.

Never having seen them before, I don't know what live Crowes were like without Luther Dickenson... BUT ... they sure do realize the talent they've scored, and they are NOT ashamed to exploit it in every wonderful way possible! ;D
Really really REALLY GREAT show last Friday night... they played for 2:45 and pulled about 1/3rd from the 1st 2 albums, 1/3rd from the new one, and the rest... awesome stuff I've never heard from the years in between... and WHY is it I've never seen this band before ??? I really hope they play Bonnaroo again someday
And Patti Smith opened with Gloria and took command of the place for an electrifying hour. A major highlight was when Luther and Rich joined her onstage for a kickass cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit. Patti Smith is an absolute legend... see her if you can
Just certain shows - by the time they get to Birmingham in 2 weeks - she is not with them - I think Grace Potter opened a few shows also
The Buffalo Killers are playing with them in Birmingham
yeah i looked - no boston shows. so they either already played or arent playing here at all. im guessing i missed the show, since they stop here or in worcester almost every year.
Just caught 'em in Raleigh last week and they were great! Hadn't seen them since summer '06 so this was my first show with the new lineup and I was impressed even with the hits from "Shake Your Money Maker" dominating the set. Still hopin' they come back to the farm in '09!
