Definitely. Green Bay's got him under a contract, with several years remaining, that says as long as he plays he plays for the Packers.
I think ESPN's been too favorable to him as well. I think this whole controversy is more on Favre's account than the Packers'.
That hasn't stopped a protest group/lynch mob against GM Ted Thompson from gathering outside Lambeau Field, with the promise to do it every Sunday until he's the starting QB again.
That certainly won't happen. Not to say that he won't go anywhere, but within NFC North would be the last place he'll get traded. Not as long as the Packers hold his rights.
The only way that he would go anywhere in the NFC North is for some valuable draft picks. I don't see any of the teams giving away first round picks. The Packers are doing the right(smart) thing by not releasing him.

so what, he wants to play, he was dumb for saying he was going to retire in the first place but not dumb to want to come back. he wont be a 2ed string qb either, just not happening
I don't know. I kinda know how he feels. This year I was a bit burned out by the end of Bonnaroo the last couple of years and, though I had an awesome time, wasn't sure if I'd be back. (And I didn't have 300 lb people jumping on my head a couple of times a day!!!) I can see how after 15+ years he might feel like he was done, especially when he was asked on a daily basis. And, just like I start feeling the itch again after a few months, I can see how he would.
That said, he's definitely put them in a tough place. He's a diety to many and the face of the franchise. He left them in the best possible way (okay, an interception away from the Super Bowl but still). They moved on to Aaron Rodgers and drafted two more QB's.
Still, I say he's Favre. You let him play or you let him go. If you can work a trade and benefit your team and your biggest asset for the last decade and a half then fine. (Just hope that you make it back to the finals this season or this decision will bite you in the ass.)
My Bills are set on a QB but I'd happily bench him for two seasons of learning under a legend and two seasons of playoffs!

Favre is back, and the Packers would be the biggest idiots in the world if they don't start him. We're talking about a guy who would've been last years MVP if not for Tom Brady. With Favre they are superbowl favorites, without him they are just another playoff team. If they don't let him play I would like to see him with the Vikings. While i'm not a Vikings fan by any means, I enjoy the type of football they play and the team core they're building. I believe they are a Brett Favre short of being a superbowl team themselves. Also, who is Aaron Rodgers, right now hes no better than Brian Brohm (the Packers real future QB), hes done nothing.

Seriously. Brett Favre was basically the Michael Jordan of football. Even if you don't like him, he has undeniably done a lot to keep the sport relevant and is one of the best to play the game.

Brett Farve is a turd. I wish someone would offer me a multi-million dollar deal just to retire and stay away from them
That being said, I do hope he continues to live a long, healthy life. Although, I might laugh out of the irony if he broke a finger or something his first day back in practice ;D ;D

I'm hearing mostly the Bucs, but the Jets seem like a more likely fit since they're and AFC team. Then again, while the Packers don't want to play Favre, i hear playing the Packers is a big deal to Favre, so I'm thinking he wants the Bucs and the Pack want the Jets. I still think its retarded how the Packers ran him out of town. I heard a phone call with Steve Marriuci who said that Brett Favre went to GB wanting to play there, but when he got to camp and had that meeting with McCarthy he got the sense they didn't want him there, this being yesterday. Retarded.

Favre to the Jets. Last I heard it was a 3rd that could become a 1st. Not suprised the Packers got Favre out of the AFC. Hasn't been accepted by Favre yet, so it could still change.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

I would've loved to see him go to the Vikings, but that was never happening, I'm sure they'll still have a better record that the Pack. With Favre the Packers were superbowl contenders, without him I think they're just playoff hopefuls. An unproven quarterback, and runningback with one good year. I still can't get over how stupid the Packers were about this.
