Who's with me? I went in '06 and '07, but sat '08 out because I didn't care for the lineup too much. But, I don't care who is there next year. I missed it. A summer isn't a summer, without the Roo!
i paid $115 less for my ticket last year with early bird! i got two tickets for what i paid for 1 this year! i am volunteering next year!
Well, I got a ticket off ebay every year so far, but I'm probly gonna do Clean Vibes this year, just for a new experience and so I can spend extra time on the farm, and not having to buy a ticket will be nice too.

I saved cash this year buying from some person on the internet. It was a bit nerve wracking as we had no idea when they were coming. Also, when we gave the Roo people our tickets, they had trouble scanning one of the four and said "You may have yourself a counterfeit." I about crapped. None were counterfeit though, thank goodness.
Also, I was hoping for some Early Birds this year as well. My girlfriend wasn't sure if she wanted to go yet and was planning on buying an Early Bird, then deciding, and then selling it to one of our friends if she couldn't go.
Early Bird tickets would be really nice. I started a babysitting job last month and put my first paycheck away in savings for Bonnaroo! The earlier I can buy a ticket the better chance I have of actually saving that money!

come to think of it... If early birds had been available this past year my summer would have been entirely different. I would've undoubtedly jumped on the Roo ticket, and in return probably not made it to All Good...
For 2009 atleast, I'm thinkin I need to see the line up before I commit to Roo. Not that it has to be absolutely perfect to get me there, but it does have to be "good enough" ...whatever that means ;D
Hell, I was upset when there were no Early Birds this year! After my first 'Roo in '07 I had already decided that I wanted a ticket for next year regardless of who was there! I agree with carpedm01, karma to you sir.
i know i will probably be accused of just being a hater of all things roo. but the one decent thing superfly did was to not have the super early bird. they know what kind of fans buy those. hippies who frequent message boards and hear about things like that. and they all would have wanted their money back when they saw a bunch of radio garbage was headlining. so i think they didnt do it solely because of that reason. they knew 90 percent of the people coming wouldnt buy tickets until they heard about roo on the radio or mtv and the ones who did would throw a fit. now that the new roo lineup is apparaent, and phil has been mistreated, the hippies are done with roo, and the roo message boards and mailing lists are flooded with a bunch of kanye, lil wayne custies they can probably do allright with the super early bird again.

Disagreed. Definitely not a hater of all things roo, but I just disagree with what you are saying..

Early bird tix are counter-intuitive for SF. The people who buy them are generally people who will be buying tix regardless of the line-up, so every early bird ticket they sell is a ticket they could have probably sold at full price.
Of course I'd love if these tix came back, but I don't see SF bringing them back anytime soon.
I know people who purchase their tix when they are in line for Roo. I personally think thats crazy but then again I drive 20 hours for Roo. (That drive in itself is crazy!!)
What kind of luck do people have purchasing tix off ebay for a good price?

Sup Roosters, I came here today in Oct to ask this very question, glad to see I'm not the only one with this on my mind.
I'm hoping that SF does indeed offer Early Bird tickets this year, and given the past year's attendance drop and the forecast of a worsening economy, they'd be fools not to do it.
While it's true that a lot of "superfans" will snatch these up who would go regardless of getting an early bird ticket or a tier 3 ticket (guilty as charged) there are also folks who will can buy tickets in Dec that might not be able to in Feb or later.
Not to mention there is a benefit to having a couple of thousand people out there with tickets in hand promoting your festival to all of their friends months before the rest of the competition begins sales.
Anyways, I'm hoping for them to make their appearance in early Dec, can't wait to see what happens.
