Badass, but not as badass as when they played literally right outside the Democratic Convention in 2000 and a police riot broke out. Ahh, the good old days.
Their "Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium" DVD actually has A LOT of GREAT footage from the 2000 DNC concert on it ....a lot of backstage stuff that wasn't shown before....wish I could figure out how to selectively cut stuff off DVDs....

I went to the show, it was epic, they came out in orange jump suits with black bags over their heads and broke out the music to bomb track. ive never seen people happier to seee a band in my life and i was at the 7 year coachella reunion.
the police's presence there was very intimidating, riot police everywhere but nothing bad broke out, they werent putting up with shit there.
^^^i was at coachella for the reunion, thats actually what sold me...i thought it was an incredible show, even with the few bloopers that come with not playing together for seven years

So Rage was planning on doing a short set last Tuesday across the street from the RNC. Then, when they got there they apparently weren't allowed to play. Before you cry foul, the reason was that they arrived late-- past the sound curfew-- and also didn't have the proper permits. But they addressed the crowd anyway. And here's the video.
I'm not a big Rage fan, or generally of politics in music, but you really have to respect what they did here.

It wouldve been nice to know they were doing the free show in St Paul at the RNC since I was there for the next day show in Minneapolis anyways, cant complain about a free show.
