I freakin' love Tom Jones. I've seen him twice and can't wait to see him again. I think that this would be a really fun afternoon set in one of the larger tents. What say you.

I think it would be enjoyable to see him. My understanding is that he puts on a great show. I don't have multiple visits to Roo, so I am not one who has witnessed various mixes of artists, but an afternoon show would be interesting.

If you've never seen him. It's a totally awesome thing. It's not what you think. There is so much more to it than What's New Pussy Cat and Delilah. He does the old standards, but he has some serious modern (and modern sounding) additions to his repertoire. He does so much more than he used to now that he's older and really just does stuff because he wants to. He does cater to the audience that comes to see him which is mostly the people who you would expect. If given the opportunity to play for a much younger (generally) I can only imagine what he would do. It would be so cool.
Words cannot describe how much I love Tom Jones or how cool he is. The man doesn't get the credit he so rightly deserves as an artist. It's like that episode of Family Guy with Barry Manilow...
He proved to me why Las Vegas is magic. I had but one day there (return trek from Coachella 2004) and had to make the most of it. As I was wandering the MGM Grand looking for my friends, a pair of doors flung open... Onstage was none other than Tom Jones himself, singing "I'm Your Venus." I was fortunate enough to stand in the doorway for that and "She's A Lady" before an usher returned and shooed me away.
I simply must see him do a full show someday. I can't think of a better place than the farm.
