Just got approved for press credentials to cover the Rockstar Mayhem Festival featuring:
Slipknot Mastodon Dragonforce Disturbed The Red Chord Suicide Silence Black Tide Walls of Jericho Machine Head 36 Crazy Fists Airbourne Five Finger Death Punch UnderOath
They're asking what kind of credentials I need, and also if I want to interview anyone. Herman Li from Dragonforce is top on the list. Disturbed, Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch are also possibilities. How about this for stepping outside of the "indie" genre?
Anyone got any bands that they think would be good interviews?

Black Tide, but don't ask them typical questions, most interviews only talk about how young they are...ask about their influences, touring, future direction, etc, etc

i heard an interview with dave draymen (sp?) from disturbed on opie & anthony a while back - he was more put together than i expected.
I think I may speak with Dave if I get a chance. Also, I try to get away from the "normal" questions, though influences and future direction seems to be a bit of the norm as well...
Thanks... BWR is a good PR firm to work with. They actually sent out pitches to the bands for us. We're also talking to Candace, the singer from Walls of Jericho. Possibly some others. Should be good times. We have photo passes too, so we'll snap some key shots.
