I'm trying to decide between seeing this and Pineapple Express. I'm actually leaning towards Tropic Thunder, though i'm sure i'll enjoy both of them. I just keep hearing in the press about how awesome Robert Downey Jr is in it and I'm a big fan of his.

pineapple express had some funny moments, but i probably wouldn't watch it again
i haven't seen tropic thunder yet, but my boyfriend says it's great

saw both, had same expectations for both, and tropic thunder completely blows express out of the water.

Yeah this movie does look hilarious. I would say skip Pineapple Express honestly, I thought it was pretty disappointing. This one looks like a sure thing though. Can't beat Robert Downey in blackface.
people are prostesting this movie cause they use the word Retard . . . . .there was an atricle in the paper where kids and their parents were protesting the movie outside the local theater. I dont even know why the kids were protesting, the movie is R rated. I guess their parents told them they were mad about it

Yeah, there's no way that kids under 18 have any knowledge of R rated movies. I know I had never heard of beer or liquor until the day I turned 18. Of course the R word is no more offensive than the N or F words and the retarded kids are too stupid to know what's going on anyway, so what's the big deal man?

I have seen the movie twice and I have to say if I were to be offended by the whole "retard" issue it wouldn't be because they dropped the word a few times in a scene, but for the jabs it took through out the movie by acting retarded.Like Ziggy said, that word is so commonly used (and misused)that this shouldn't be an issue.

I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING...I SAW TROPIC THUNDER LAST NIGHT....IMHO PINEAPPLE EXPRESS BLEW TROPIC THUNDER OUT OF THE WATER....I WAS CRACKING UP LAUGING NON STOP AT PINEAPPLE, AND THE FUNNIEST PART IN TT WAS ILL SUCK YOUR DICK IF U LET ME DOWN....IDK I JUST DIDNT FIND IT AS APPEALING AS PINEAPPLE......OF COURSE, I DEF HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PINEAPPLE SITUATION....CORN WISE....IDK JUST MHO.

Saw Tropic Thunder last night and it did not disappoint. I loved the part in the beginning where they're filming the scene where Ben Stiller is dying and his guts are all over the place and Robert Downey Jr. goes "It ain't nothing but a thang". All of Downey's lines were killer. Really funny movie.
