Apparently, Melodytrip are having awards solely for festivals of all types (Rock,Blues, country, Indie, Folk and so on) and Bonnaroo has a few nominations. People will be able to register and vote on these categories for the next 2 weeks. Here are the categories roo is nominated in:
Best US Music Festival Best Music Festival Performance (Beck,MMJ,Elvis Costello, and Radiohead) Best Rock Festival Best Festival Production Company Best Post Fest Scene/Nightlife

Put my name out there for sure, hopin Bonnaroo gets a few of those...I was disappointed that the MMJ show at BONnaroo wasnt on there instead the Coachella one was, i didnt see it so i dont know how it compared to the Bonnaroo performance, but I woulda voted for MMJ last year for sure
Kinda cool, I think they should have just let people write in things like performances, road warriors, etc. I guess you just have to make do with the choices given.
Don't want to be a downer, but isn't this kinda pointless? How many people can really judge the nominees? The vast majoroity of us only get to one (maybe two or three) festivals per year, so we're gonna vote for what we saw. I voted Daft Punk's Coachella performance top 'cos I thought it was great, but the only other nominated set that I saw was Bloc Party's Coachella set so my vote doesn't have much authority. And we all know that write-ins won't get anywhere. I can compare Roo overall based on my 05 experience with my 04 and 06 Coachellas, but that all.

Thanks for pointing out the error with MMJ, we will put them in the voting booth for Bonnaroo, as you can see by the nominations page, this was the intention to begin with, that was the only band that was nominated twice. I didn't see either performance but the reviews for both performaces were equally amazing so we had to go with both, I am a huge MMJ fan myself.
We seriously may add Best Festival Board next year, we added best website this year right before we launched this, so it is a definite possibility. (there is a second group of nominees in case you missed it)
As far as write-ins, you are probably right, not much of a chance to win, but we want everyone to be able to express their opinion, and this is our first year, so we certainly made mistakes and also want to keep other bands/events on our radar screen for next year.
It is a good point that you can't get to most events, we tried to provide as much research by giving you links to news and reviews, I think next year we will link right to YouTube video of each performance, but we understand there is nothing like being there and some of this is for you to just give your stamp of approval on a festival or performance you loved.
Anyway, thanks for your feedback, hope to get to Bonnaroo this year or next, I am going to Jazzfest but would like to double my pleasure!
i notice in the first post that becks show was put up there for best show. even my hardcore beck friends were disapointed in his show. seems to be following in the steps of so many awards that have no clue whats going on. but its fun i guess. didnt mean to be negative.

well the only issue I had was radiohead's performance vs. mmj's last year. I had to give it to thom and jonny and co. because that just sent me to space. But I gave mmj the other award....

You did whiff a little with beck. It wasn't his best but it was a very interesting performance. Not anywhere near the list quality but I can see how you would include him.

True that^, realistically i dont think they would've been able to compete with Radiohead or MMJ, but then again, i dont know demographic of voters. I voted RRFB for best road warrior, please spare me!
