These guys are one of the tightest, hardest-touring tribute bands out there, and they have a phenomenal light show. I'm thinking they could fill a Thursday night "headliner" spot, like Dark Star Orchestra / Lez Zeppelin sort of did this year.

Agreed. No cover bands at bonnaroo. That idea totally sucks. Cover bands should never headline anywhere other than the local bar.
BTW I gave an oportunity to see the Australian Pink Floyd show for free so that I could go see the B-52's for free. Both were parties with free booze and food. I went to the Floyd party and had some free drinks and food then left to go to the B-52's party. Reason - They're not a cover band.
I really do want to see these guys one day, and I am a HUGE Floyd fan... but please NO MORE tribute bands at Bonnaroo.
DSO and Lez Zep are both talented, but they kinda ruined Thursday night for me last year
They didn't ruin it for me. I saw some great shows, though I didn't think either of those bands should've been closing out a tent. But I agree that Bonnaroo doesn't need any more tribute/cover bands. There's so many great bands out there making original music. And, besides, Bonnaroo could easily get the Roger Waters Dark Side show if they wanted

I think that having "The Australian Pink Floyd Show" would be awesome, and not just because I've seen them twice. Naturally I don't advise a cover-band-laden festival, but it helps you get in the groove of things on a Thurs if you haven't quite found a band you've liked yet. Yes it is true that they're occupying a potential slot for a great original band, but music is music regardless of who wrote it. A cover band gives an opportunity to enjoy stadium quality tunes in a more intimate setting, and at the perfect caliber is unmistakably a good thing.
