I'm taking a world literature class that uses volumes of an anthology as a textbook. We just finished with Book A and are starting on works from Book B on Monday. So I'm sitting at work, bored out of my mind because the internets weren't working, when I decide to pull out the new book out and thumb through my assignment. I just happen to have pulled it from my bookshelf and casually tossed into my messenger bag before walking out the door today. So, I pick it up and I notice a piece of paper tucked inside the back cover. Curious as to what kind of scholarly goodness was left to me by a previous owner, I pulled it out and greeting my eyes in big bold letters were the words "My Morning Jacket." I seriously thought it had to be something other than the band. There is no way that anything related to MMJ could just casually fall out of my World Lit book. Well, it did. It was an excerpt from an article in The Oxford American Sixth Annual Music Issue. They featured the song "Evelyn Is Not Real" and the author detailed his "descent into My Morning Jacket fandom." He specifically talks about the album 'At Dawn.'
After this happened, I very much decided that today was going to be a good day.
I would, but I would have to drive over an hour to get them from another state. I don't know if it would be worth it. I usually win quite a bit from scratchcards, though.
And I nearly failed a math test about two hours ago, but I'm still having an awesome day. I think I might actually buy a drink at a bar I'm in such a good mood!
