The only problem I have with that is the source. The Sun doesn't hold alot of clout as journalists. Another Daily Mirror type publication. I'm not saying it won't happen I just have my doubts.

That is the dollar ammount that they were offered in 06' to reunite. I can't see GV/AEG offering over 5 million. How much did they pay Prince? 2 million and Prince is way greater that The Smiths.
Hope they do take the money. Then perhaps that rumor will go away.
Coachella is too far for me, and it's also right around exam time at my college... but I would love to have them at a fest closer to home. In fact, I'd be ecstatic.
Heck, even just Morrissey solo would be quacking incredible. For now I'm assuming this rumor is just BS, like so much of the Sun's articles.

I love them both, but you really can't compare them. They have two completely different sounds and styles.Purple Rain is a quacking classic, but so is Meat Is Murder, for that matter (no pun intended). They're each amazing, but for different reasons.
If I had to choose one, though, it would be The Smiths.

Fair enough. I try not to get envolved with the so and so is bigger than so and so. Everyone has the right to like who they want for whatever reason. And I don't dislike The Smiths. They were a huge discovery for me at that point in my life. I guess it all just boils down to the fact that I am just tired of The Smiths/Coachella talk. Every year with that.
Besides. We all know The Replacements are greater than anything.
I'm going to get smited for this, but what a Ann Coulter band. You can't even play together again unless someone offers you millions of dollars? Get the quack out
