Jesus that was amazing. Olbermann is awesome. I live in West Hollywood, and the gay population here rivals the straight. There have been marches and protests every single day since the election. This boils down to pure discrimination. People here have started boycotting the companies with ties to the "Yes for Prop 8" campaign. I really don't see an end in sight. Last week, there were helicopters flying over my apt all night filming the marches down Sunset & Santa Monica. It was so loud & crazy, but for such a great reason. Alisa, how is it down in San Diego? Similar craziness?

lots of protests/events as well, pretty much daily. I'm sure LA has a higher turnout but the sentiment down here is definitely the same! I should really get into all these shenanies...

I guess Saturday here there is supposedly some huge march planned again, I'm prolly gonna hook up with some of my peeps and march for them. You gotta get involved.

^ yes on that. i just coordinated a carpool to the one in SD with some friends. plus spread the word at work. very excited about it.
as i told a coworker today, if i had any idea that the vote was going to go this way, i would have done so much more. so it's nice to be able to have a channel for our voices to be heard, even after the election.

Lots of cool signs (mine read "They want to marry each other, not you!" it got its share of laughs
If you look closely, you can't even SEE where the sea of people ends... (there was an estimated 25,000 people present!)

My main motivation for the cause, my great friends who have been together for 25 years but were married in August. Their relationship and their devotion to each other are a constant source of inspiration to me (and anyone who knows them, I'm sure)
