Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've seen this used as a method to keep the trolls under control on other forums.
If someone were to have -10 karma, they would only be allowed to make two posts a day or something like that. They can respond all they want in their own threads, but they can't create any more than two new threads or respond to someone else's thread more than twice. The numbers can be set at whatever, I'm just using these as examples.
Anywho, I thought I'd throw that out there. I don't even know if Proboards has that capability.

there used to be a warning limit for type thingy. but really, there arent that many trolls around here...and the ones that are here, are kinda loved in their own way... so i say no.
As long as Ween doesn't play Roo again this year, I think we'll be safe
LOL, agreed!
thank you for the suggestion ediger! hopefully we won't have to employ further mod-restrictions, but if we do that's an idea! thankfully it's pretty mellow around here

My karma is really low and I can guarentee you that you will not find a post that was too negative from me, people just hated my "HOFF" AVI so I constantly got smited.... that being said I cant agree with this rule, I will continue to be as much help with my opinions on Inforoo as possible and with your rule I wont be able too
if you are a complete doucenozzle, you will be banned.
it might be cool if there was a way to have a user set their own preference to not see posts from people with a certain karma. but its probably more trouble setting it up than its worth...

Actually - I wish there was a way to not see posts just from certain people

The ignore member feature would be good to have back, even though I wouldn't use it personally. I just can't imagine taking any one member away. All the arguments and bickerings and repetitive debates reoccurring every month is just too priceless to miss. It's the only reason I read them ;D
Karma points are just not a reliable way to judge a persons input or maturity amongst the boards. The only way to justify this idea would be if mods were the only ones capable of exalting/smiting I think, which would be absolutely terrible.
It all goes back to that old "It's just a number" argument.

I have little or no Karma (probably because i just started) but have been to the Roo several times and just want everyone to have a positive experience. I have seen no spammers or trolls to speak of yet.

We will get spammers the closer we get to Bonnaroo, typically just PM a mod and they will deal with it. On one occasion I went back to this dudes site and spammed inforoo on it.
You know just a few weeks ago you were at -40 or something .. Look at you now. Awesome creep. Awesome.
Oh and I voted no. Its an issue with being fair and I don't think taking away a voice simply because it's not a popular one isn't fair. There are other ways to deal with trolls.
