i love you roosters and i want your help.
me and my buddy play this game when we are at the bar or at home. when we play the jukebox we will play a song followed by somebody covering the song. turns out it is quite entertaining. here are some we have come up with and i want your help with discovering more. i am on a cover kick.
grateful dead > sublime - scarlet begonias
elton john > ben folds - tiny dancer
bob marley > xavier rudd - no woman, no cry
grateful dead > slightly stoopid - know you rider
modest mouse > iron horse - float on
oasis > ryan adams - wonderwall
butthole surfers > keller williams - pepper
stevie wonder > RHCP - higher ground
smokey robinson > she & him (i love you zooey!) - you really got a hold on me
erykah badu > my morning jacket - tyrone
marvin gaye > ben harper - sexual healing
eric clapton > slightly stoopid - wonderful tonight
led zeppelin > bonerama - ocean
kool & the gang > my morning jacket - get down on it
eazy e > dynomite hack - boyz in the hood
allman bros. > keller williams - midnight rider
the doors > particle - l.a. woman
five stairsteps > trey anastasio - ooh child
steve miller band > michael franti - the joker
sublime > 311 > michael franti - what i got

well thats all i can think of right now. the more unique the cover the better. i love when they make it their own.

I almost always miss it nowadays, but never fails, my Dad calls me at least once a week. "You still at work?" "Yeah (unhappily)" "Too bad, you're missing the 5 o'clock shadow"
I was reading this thread and thinking "5 o'clock shadow - that sounds awfully familiar" and then I went to the station's website and realized that the DJ who does this used to be at WRNR - which was the station I listened to when I lived in Annapolis.
I swear, the saddest part of moving to DC was losing this station. I get excited whenever I go back to Naptown or on my way to the beach and can tune in. Or, you know, listen on the internet.
