According to him, and his crew, Without giving me too much detail, I was told : Phish is playing Bonnaroo, first 2 nights. Phish's tour manager is bonnaroo's production manager. And after MTV bought out the rights to bonnaroo, it started to become mainstream like woodstock. It was noticed on how out of control woodstock was and they decided to make it more of a hippie festival instead of a drunk fraternaty fest. so, phish's return gives them that chance to change the course of the festival. Plus it gives Phish a chance to play 2 festivals and only produce one.

hey don't feel too bad streetbum, it was a worthwhile link. I atleast chuckled. I always laugh when somebody makes up some random bologna and says they heard it straight from someone such as Mike Gordon.
Although, it would be cool to share a smoke break with Mike. I'd probably pick up cigs again if I could share one with a member of Phish every time

I noticed it took one of Inforoo's own to debunk that glaring MTV inaccuracy. I hope that isnt one of those messageboards that we're supposed to be taking seriously, or whatever.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard the "MTV bought Bonnaroo" thing - I would have like $70. Which is $70 more than I should have considering it is perhaps the dumbest rumor/thing to take seriously ever. The only people that ever say it are people that have never been to Bonnaroo.
they are mostly owned by clear channel now though, so the mtv thing isnt that much of a stretch i guess; but it does make me doubt the reliability that info.
^yeah. i think it was more the idea of them trying to go back to their roots cause they saw the problems that arose last year and if it kept going down that road it would self destruct.
Below is a link of an interview with Mike Gordon talking about the new management and band future, they are linked up with Red Light Management (based in Charlottesville, Va.) check it out, i dont know if it is anything new to the table. www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20081226/LIVING/812260305/1004/RSS04
Actually I have read an interview that said he tried eatting corn once or twice but it was not for him. I think Page is pretty similar, Trey and Fishman are of course different stories altogether.

TMWSIY i mean come on...one of the greates stories.....ever..and you had to have been completely full of corn to make such awesome music to such an awesome story
Helping Phriendly Band . These rumors are different though imo a lot more likely and a lot less denied. There is stuff that supports it coming out all the time. Like Mikes article where he basically said no more Phish festivals.

I haven't been paying attention to this thread, so forgive me if it's been mentioned...but I don't think it has.
The Bonnaroo twitter posted an interesting link a few (okay, nine) hours ago...go check it out: twitter.com/bonnaroo
This is only the second time they've posted something to Twitter since last year's roo, and I find it VERY odd that they'd link to something like that. Seem weird to anyone else?
