Springsteen, Phish to headline Bonnaroo?
Rumors are flying about the 2009 Bonnaroo headliners. This year's best guesses? Bruce Springsteen and a reunited Phish. While last year's rumor that Led Zeppelin would reunite at the festival was false (Robert Plant performed with Alison Krauss, but the other surviving Zeppelin members did not join him), I'm betting that this rumor is true.
No official word yet, though. Headliners are usually announced in mid-January.

I'm sold on a tour, but not totally on the Phish at Bonnaroo. My guess would be an Allgood or Rothbury Phish show. Allgood would be perfect bc there is one band playing at a time. And Phish on top of a mountain, dont think they have done that before....but then again i'm just sorta thinking out loud.
On a side note....Phish and The Dead will be on tour sometime soon! Isnt that exciting???!!
Bummer i cant buy the Bonnaroo pre sale, but if this becomes true. I'll be super bummed bc it would sell out in no time. Atleast I'm only about 2 hrs away from Deer Creek in Noblesville!
I'm still holding out for a tour. I don't think just Phish is enough to get me back to Roo. Phish on top of a sweet ass understory, plus no Rothbury - then maybe.

Damn!!!!!!!!!!!
I still Love bonnaroo, so it wont even take Phish. But if Phish is there, So will I, unless they play their own festival (which the previous article kinda discouraged??) a tour (where they play Noblesville two nights). If they only play B-roo and the Hampton shows. I'm screwed. Well not just me either. A trip to red rocks could be in store too . I love thinking about potential tours! Think about this. Phish and The Dead both playing Deer Creek for two/three/four nights!!! Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, yeah. If they don't tour, I'll be at Roo, but I'm assuming they are going to tour. I'd rather hit up part of the tour and do a couple other fests than go to Roo for just them and not be able to afford the other fests I want to go to.

I am doing Deer Creek if they tour for sure. That and Atlanta and Bonnaroo, should be enough Phish for the Summer. I think AllGood is out though that venue can't even pretend to hold the amount of folks who would show up.

i wasn't really sold on the idea that they would play ANY festival, but if they were to play one, i think it would have to bonnaroo, just based on pure size of the crowd. can you even imagine how fast tickets would/will go should phish be announced at bonnaroo? i just think allgood and roth are too small for the demand on phish.
I haven't been paying attention to this thread, so forgive me if it's been mentioned...but I don't think it has.
The Bonnaroo twitter posted an interesting link a few (okay, nine) hours ago...go check it out: twitter.com/bonnaroo
This is only the second time they've posted something to Twitter since last year's roo, and I find it VERY odd that they'd link to something like that. Seem weird to anyone else?
I wouldn't read too much into this. It's just the music reporter for the Knoxville paper. I looked at last year, and their first post was when the official line up was released. They didn't seem to have any inside info last year.
From what I understand Rothbury has plenty of room for growth, if they can work out the ownership issues.
This is true! They have the ability to hold as many folks as Roo. Now if the dang judge would just get his crap together and allow the ranch to be sold....
The rumor that they play Jazzfest is still out there as well. Many believe Jazzfest is too small and I tend to agree. It would still be nice to see them there.
