Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Paul Langeuedoc is definitely not going to be with them this time around. It's been officially reported by a couple people like jambands.com. Sucks. I hope there sound doesn't suffer. I've heard that the guy who does Trey's FOH mixing will be doing it for them. Also, it's been confirmed that Chris Kuroda will atleast be doing the lights for Hampton. I'm sure he'll be there for the summer tour as well.
On another note I read this over on PT. Take it however you'd like considering it's PT. But I like the way it sounds:
"The boys are back in NYC today rehearsing and are scheduled to rehearse though the 1ST of March before heading straight down to VA from NYC. They are rehearsing downtown around 25th street. A good buddy of mine is actually at the same location doing PR for another band and heard some phish rehearsal as well as spoke to Fishman who clearly was not holding back much info. He said they all arrived early this morning and that everyone left around 3pm except for Trey who was still getting used to his new setup which is basically the same setup as before but more modern age, with pedals and "effects" being controlled through a pad raised off the floor and not pedals themselves.
First off, the songs he heard..He basically said he heard very little "jamming" from the band. He said they basically ran through portions of the songs and where the jams would be they basically just stopped and cut to the end of the songs. Foam, Taste (played at least 3 times he said- which means this is a LOCK for hampton), It's Ice (he said he thought he heard Trey singing it but he cant be sure), Moma Dance (said this was rocking and was the only song they really jammed out in the rehearsal), Guyute, Sparkle, Rock and Roll (stopped playing before the jam went off) and he wasnt sure but he thought he heard them rehearsing Tightrope by Stevie Ray Vaughan..again not confirmed but probable.
He got a chance to talk to Fishman around noon when he was in the common area of the studio hanging around. He said he was a big fan but was unable to secure tickets to Hampton but that he apparently got a bonus treat by being in the same studio as them. Fishman acknowledged the ticket situation after my friend Andy asked if he knew how high tickets were going for. Fishman basically said "Im not sure if thats a compliment or an insult" regarding the ticket prices but clearly did not lash out against it. He asked if the Red Rocks rumor was true and Fishman said "I honestly dont really know where were gonna play down the line. He said that Trey basically handpicked the stops along this tour himself and that he never asks where theyre playing until they get there". My friend asked if there were any plans to make an album and Fishman said they arent signed to do any records but if new songs come to light he said he assumes Trey would want to make an album. My friend said that the band sounded as expected. Songs were rocking and loud and he said they tackled the songs he heard through the wall and that Moma Dance was really rocking and shook the walls to his room."

Languedoc isn't touring with Phish? That's odd...I had heard rumors about Kuroda not coming back, but not having Paul there is weird.
In anticipation of Phish being back, I've been going through my old tape collection (that's right...tapes! Maxell XL IIs! Tons of them!), and I totally forgot how many great old shows I have on here.
I actually miss the days of tape trading. The ease with which we get shows now is almost frustratiing - it's so instant, that the anticipation doesn't exist. Nowadays, people on Inforoo lose their collective minds when a show from Bonnaroo isn't up 3 days after the fest ends. Back in "the day", over on RMP, there was a general "two-week" rule: that is, you had to wait at least two weeks before even requesting copies of a particular show. Then once that barrier had been breached, you still needed to find someone who had it, set up a trade or a B&P, wait for the tapes to come....but there was nothing more exciting than coming home, seeing the oversized padded envelope in your mailbox, and tearing it open to listen to some fresh tunes.
By the way, I'm totally rambling, but I'm fairly high off of painkillers (note to mods: it's legal, I just two days ago had major reconstructive surgery), so I'm just kind of out to lunch.
Yes after many, many purges over the years I've still managed to retain a few hundred tapes of various bands mostly Dead just can't seem to get rid of alot of them--memories. I had also done a bit of taping back in the mid to late eighties, analog sony d6, so some masters I could just never bring myself to part with even when I got a better sounding recording.

i know im young and all but the way it is now sounds infinitely better than having to find tapes of shows :/ going to archives, phishows or nugs or we is really awesome and allows me to get music a lot faster than i can actually listen to it. And, i dont skip through songs that would defeat the purpose for me. i prefer to download consecutive shows and listen to them straight through because i dont think there is a better way to really get a feel for the music. i think it would suck if i could only find certain shows and have to wait for them etc.

Right with you man. I actually HAVE better DL versions of shows that I've got on Cassette or DAT and jut can't part with them. Nostalgia and whatnot.
I think the biggest difference now is that while I still DL whole shows and listen to them "I do a show per workout"...I remember back when I delivered pizza for a living...I'd have certain bootlegs in the deck for months at a time.
There are some shows where I know every note, every audience sound (I can say things along with the guy who stood too close to the mic), every single hiss and buzz.
Wierd to be attached to something that is clearly of lower quality...but I am.
And, for Candy's post,...if I were you I'd do the same thing.
In fact, I'm NOT you and I do the same thing...now. It's awesome to have so much access. Lucky times!
But there is something special about those tapes we traded like gold!

I'm right there with you on the tape nostalgia. My wife and I were talking about getting rid of our 500 or so Dead and Phish tapes, since we haven't had a working tape player for two or three years. She was there with me collecting them all, and in the end we couldn't do it. We settled for storing half of them at her mom's, but we kept the other half here at home "just in case."
Languedoc had a stiffy for hearing his guitar. Page was almost nonexistent in most mixes. I'm not too broken up about his leaving. The replacement is just a adept as Paul in making sound work, and actually lets the other instruments have a fighting chance in the mix.

Unfortunately I usually just catch poop from my wife about my cass. tapes "you never listen to them, they take up so much space etc etc..." true true true but I just can't seem to let them go. So many if not all of my friends have been able to purge all their cassette tapes I can't seem to part with the nostalgia.
And yes I certainly have much better quality cd's that have been downloaded then many shows I have on cassette as well. Like for instance the 1990 Europe run. I personally taped most of it but my tapes just did not come out that great so I have since downloaded most of the tour, But I will never part with the masters (even though I may never listen to them again). silly yes, but it is what it is

I hope phish is on their game. Don't get me wrong, they're my favorite band... But I dont want to hear phish circa 03-04. It was still good, but even their best shows post hiatus are only considered "good" for them. CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM. RIP IT TREY

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I have 2 Knoxville tickets I'm looking to trade for Mansfield. I'd take either 2 lawn seats, or 1 covered reserve.....
Someone should ask a mod if we can have a Phish ticket trading, or sales for face thread on the which stage I bet plenty of people would like it. I sold my knox tickets to a fellow inforooster who's kids got shut out of the shows. I just can not go Knox to Bonnaroo, and 4 shows should be enough to do me for awhile.
if i had planned my trip better i probably could have just gone down the coast to Bonnaroo. but i'm happy with my Great Woods->Roo->StarLake. but if anyone has any Hamptons(haha, long shot i know! ) or Deer Creeks or Alpine Valleys? the only thing is i can't do DC or Alpine unless i can get more than one ticket so i can convince the people that i'm going to star lake with to continue down the road. otherwise.... 10 days til the return!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, for those of you looking for a ticket trading forum, a guy on PT created an Inforoo-style board for just that. phishtrade.proboards.com/

If you wanna get rid of tix or trade, the best way to do it is to put what you have available and what you're looking for in your signature at the bottom.
just thought i'd let anyone know who doesn't already. the Hampton shows will be up on mr.miners phish thoughts app. 20 to 30 minutes after each show. not only that though, they will be put up on a "no spoilers" site that will just have set1 as one file and set2+enc as the other file without any representation of what songs were played anywhere on the site or within the files. that way you can quickly download the files within 30 minutes of the show and listen to it just as the crowd did not too long before.

Good idea. You should be in charge or something....
