I recently had a Phish relapse. I used to be really into them and it was all I listened to. I took a few years off and listened to a bunch of new bands. But it seems like I will never outgrow my soft spot for them. To get back into it I popped in Phish 13 into my cd player and once I got through that Im on to 14 (I love those Halloween shows.) Phish at Roo will be my first Phish shows ever and I'm pretty excited.

I suppose everything that can be speculated about has been speculated about. Christ, we really don't have lives. I normally wouldn't be so aghast at my own "no life" status, but I'm disappointed the thread has slown down.

yeah a Twist would be sweet. i could see Trey rippin it up on that one. i was thinking maybe Sand since Trey's been raging that one with his own band in the last couple years. i was also thinking they might play 2001. could you imagine a 2001 opener friday night? they'd blow the lid off Hampton prematurely. hehe.

nol3013 - I used to walk past those numbers every day on the way to the Industrial engineering building. Go Buckeyes!
A phan since 95 and I've said that I withhold any phish comments until after I hear next weekends shows. I think you'll see this thread take off again after that.
I ordered mid-feb too but i chose express shipping, and they shipped it out on last tuesday and I got it thursday. The soundcheck is f'in amazing. Really glad to get the soundcheck and flatbed audio. those two have been absent for 12 years now.
I really hope that they have shelved this one..freakin pathetic if you ask me. I know Phish gets into its gimmicks but this was and still is just lame lame song, lame idea. Please do not play meatstick anymore fellas. But I understand the Japanese love it.

AGREED!
Many a great set in Summer of 1999 was ruined by the appearance of the Meatstick - see Oswego in particular.
i disagree. as dumb as that song can be there's been some pretty HEAVY jams that have come out of it at the end. listen to IT. IMO that jam is as intense and amazing as any. just my 2 cents. but on the topic of songs we don't really like. one song i've never really been a fan of is McGrupp and the Watchful Horsemasters. it was a great song in the early days but it kind of lost it's magic towards the later days. the composition just seemed to get more and more rehearsed and lost the energy they used to pour into it.

This brings up a question, what are y'all's least favorite Phish songs (just curious)? Mine are probably "AC/DC Bag" and "Reba," although Reba has a pretty sweet jam part, but overall I just really don't like it.

Yeah, I figured I'd be alone with my opinion on those. And of course live, they're a whole different story, but I skip those when listening to a CD.

^^ oh yeah thats a great Bag for sure. I love the funky starightforward Bag's 6-8 mins really sweet. I few times they have spaced it out some and let it run 15 mins or more gets booring at that point. Reba is tight usually always the same, like Fluff, a very intrical, composed piece I am a fan. Least favorite: wading in the velvet sea, Meatstick, Prince Caspian, Character Zero (only like the jam which generally kicks butt otherwise can't stand the song verses, chorus hate it), sleeping monkey, Windora bug, twist, heavy things, free, BOaF, meat .........thats all for now
