Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I was talking to a member of a band I know pretty well, he said that as of right now talks are suspended for them playing because of all the crap going on with the ranch. Do you guys think we will get a Rothbury again, or will it go the way of The Echo Project?

the mounted patrol that does bonnaroo also does rothbury and has this on their website www.mountedpatrol.com/calender.php?id=46 Rothbury Festival - Thursday July TBD, 2009 Rothbury, Michigan
Apply online here to be in the Rothbury Festival Concert Mounted Patrol. Visit www.rothburyfestival.com for more information about the festival.
For more information, e-mail info@mountedpatrol.com ... i stole this info from infobury
According to the sources that people from infobury have (I have no clue who they are, but apparently a source from AEG) is that it WILL happen. It looks worst and worst everyday to me though, I'm actually starting to lose my optimism for the first time. Bottom line is there is a contract with the owner of the ranch, but there's no owner. I'm thinking the best-case scenario is that the owner has been decided behind closed doors, or just the fact that this contract has to be honored. Hopefully AEG and Madison House were able to work something out and we just don't know about it
The only thing keeping me positive in this matter is that no one has officially stated Rothbury won't happen this year. If in fact it is too late to book their lineup, then I think they would have announced it as early as possible, rather than wait for the last minute.
The guy I talked to said they thought it was on until last week. He said their agent told them that contracts were suspended until some things could be worked out.

I'm gonna go with a strong gut feeling of No... but I hope I am wrong, because the more festies the better and I would have liked to check it out this year or next, and there's no way I could have gone to Echo last year, but I watched it from home, and from the stories I've been told, I will always be sad about not being able to go to that, and though I don't really know anyone who went to this, the same would go for Rothbury
Rothbury wrote on their own wall in their little news feed. Thjs is what it says:
There's been a lot of speculation on Infobury (obviously). But our contacts at AEG have said that there is a lot of behind the scenes action going on, and not to worry about. So I'm not worried about it.
Its funny because I hear people complain about AC and Superfly making Bonnaroo about money. I think it is about music and these businesses are making money from that which is okay if they have a good product. They put on a good show and have become the experts. They purchased the farm and have all their ducks lined up. Other festivals have had to move because of land and community issues.
I guess what I am saying that behind it all is more then passion for the music it is business and getting business done and the people that can combine both are successful. The Grateful Dead wrote the book on doing this and AC and Superfly have been adding to it. .
I hope Rothbury does succeed this year but it doesn’t look good , if not maybe they can regroup and comeback later like Lollapalooza did.

Well even if they were having difficulties could you expect them to tell you anything other than not to worry? They are promoters not demoters if there is a chance in hell it might happen they will say no worries that is how the Echo thing went down. I just think given what I have heard about the situation and the info I got last night that it is looking less and less likely.

Well until they say no, I'm counting on it. Even if the ranch doesn't get sorted out, they had other land in the area in option. There's a lot more to it than just whether or not the ranch sells.
They've been updating the website, and facebook, and myspace. Echo just dropped off the face of the earth months before they announced that was canceled. At least Rothbury still has a pulse.
Oh yeah. And the locals say there are still town meetings and stuff going on about the festival. So even if it's not definite, it's definitely not dead.
I figure they'll have to announce a lineup before Roo tickets go on regular sale since that's the biggest competitor (last year was announced just a couple days before Roo sales started). So if we don't hear anything by then, I think we'll have our answer.
