Hey all, this will be my fifth 'Roo and the first time I am flying vice driving, as I live in Arizona now and no longer Michigan... The drive is a tad longer haha.
My question regards whether or not their is a shuttle service from the farm to the Nashville Airport? Coming in I will be fine, but may have to leave on Sunday for the first time ever this year and I don't want to make my party break camp just for me. Any input is much appreciated! Thanksss ;D
Hey higgi - Bonnaroo actually has shuttle service just for Bonnaroo peope flying in - I know there are lots of people here who took the shuttle - I have never flown in so I am of no help - but I know there is a shuttle from the airport to Bonnaroo and then back to the airport from Bonnaroo
I'll hitch from the airport if I have too haha, I'm not missing 'Roo. Plus I am really interested to see how I fare this year, as I have gotten quite used to the Heat, living in Central Arizona.

whole different kind of heat tho - you are used to the dry heat of the desert now - just wait until the first wave of humid heat hits you - you will feel like you are being pushed down, crawling in it.
The shuttle was $60 round trip, it was fun (a busload of Roosters got me in the Bonna-mood long before I even got close to the farm), and I didn't have to wait in traffic jams at all. When GA tickets go on sale, you should be able to find shuttle tickets on the Bonnaroo website.
On the downside, however (and this was just my personal experience, I'm not making a general statement about the shuttle), it doesn't seem particularly well-organized. The lines at the airport were kind of chaotic. Then on Monday morning, I asked every security member, volunteer, Roo staffer on the farm where I was supposed to get on the bus, and they all looked at me like I was talking gibberish.
definitely not well organized but it was fun and pretty cool. I sat next to a pretty hip lady. She was a professor that was chillin with her summer and had taken yoga from Ginsberg.
You'd think that with all of Roo's greening efforts, they would not only provide public transportation, but would actively encourage it. Not only that, but having fewer cars also speeds things up at the gate as well.

I had no problems at the airport getting on the shuttle, lines were fine. The ride in was quick (besides getting pulled over and the storage compartment of our bus getting searched by the dogs).
But Monday morning we had the same problem about being confused about where the bus was picking us up.. I think it was pretty much where we got dropped off but yeah nobody seemed to know. The tickets said it would depart every half an hour, but there were several buses lined up and ready to go (when we got there anyway). So I would highly recommend it.
The buses are awesome. It's so nice just passing that huge line of cars. We didn't have to wait in any lines to get a bus either. There was one waiting for us when we got to the airport with maybe 6 people on it. The only downside is it drops you off rather far from tent-only, so there's a bit of a hike (maybe 10 minutes) with all of your gear. I'd suggest bringing some sort of wagon.
the shuttles are available to anyone. If I recall correctly, you had the option to either order shuttle tickets in advance or you could buy them at the Nashville Airport (where the shuttle picks you up). We ordered ours in advance and I believe saved 10 bucks each in the process.
So if I read right it doesn't leave on sunday but does on monday?
It leaves Monday. Not sure what time it starts in the morning, but I'm sure they'll say that when the start selling tickets again this year. I made my airline reservations for later in the day so I don't have to rush to the shuttle Monday morning.

The only thing is I wouldn't want to pack all my shit up like that, and a friend and I may have a big ass box truck that we can deck out on the inside and get ourselves an RV pass.
What I am curious about is, do they stop at a store to pick up last minute supplies like beer and stuff you can't bring on a plane?
I know last year they stopped at walmart and a few people got off there... however I don't know how it works for getting back on. I would assume that if you have the pass you can get on the next one that pulls up.. but I'm not sure about that.
I highly don't you get on and off the shuttle at Walmart but I have heard of many people using a taxi to go the the Kmart by the airport befor they get on the bus.
