Wow I guess I burned myself out on this last year. I just have not wanted to do it this year, like I did. I do hope it is Neil Young For What its Worth.

I like the barking up the wrong tree logic suggesting that maybe the clue is that we are wrong in our guesses. So maybe we should try to go through the speculation thread, since they are barking up the right tree and compare to this thread (the wrong tree) and see what guesses are there that aren't here. If I have some time today I'll definitely work on that. Sounds like a fun task.
i agree..when i did that i noticed that they were discussing animal collective over there right before he posted that...and some others also noted that

I saw that. I think Animal Collective and Neil Young are both almost too easy. But I have a hunch that both of these might be true. Especially given the timing of the release of Neil Young's newest video on Youtube and Rolling Stone.

I believe the "barking" clue has two parts, one is the single word "barking" to indicate a particular act (as evidenced by being capitalized/bolded/colored), and the second is the sentence as a whole, to refer to a separate act (most likely one we've already discussed). I think it helps to keep these separate.

"I think we're getting a lot of opposites.
AC/DC Right, Wrong Radio, Dadio Rust, Dust (okay those are sort of opposites) and then the color thing, with green and orange representing the Irish Catholics and Protestants..."
I don't think this works. Most of those pairs are not opposites at all. Radio and dadio aren't, while rust and dust are more similar than they are opposite, as is the case with Catholics and Protestants.
Plus I don't think She and Him should be allowed to play anywhere until they stop the grammar abuse that is their very name. Every time I read or hear it I cringe.
I have worked on the clues by myself since they started last year, but I feel like I might have something worth noting finally.
I had a problem with the previous conclusions to the "AC/DC" clue. TV on the Radio wasn't a very clear connection, although they are a band who would be clue worthy. Edison connects to the clue perfectly, but seriously. That band? Earning a clue?
So I put some thought into it, and think I have the actual act figured out using the work already done in this thread:
Bon Iver
The clue states that "someone who IS AC/DC" (the rest of the clue doesn't matter) Through the white stripes lyric, we know that Edison is AC/DC. But, that goes one step further. Who is someone who is Edison (AC/DC)? Justin EDISON Vernon, aka Bon Iver. Thus, a combination of the perfect clue connections and a band that is both likely AND worthy of a clue.
I think Bon Iver is the answer! Here is my reasoning for Bon Iver Based on the clues.
"but someone who is AC/DC isn't in Europe." It has been mentioned many times that in the White Stripes song "Astro" there is a line "Maybe Edison is AC/DC." Justin Vernon/Bon Iver's previous band was DeYarmond Edison. here's a link tinyurl.com/8dhvmd
Thus Bon Iver is Edison is AC/DC
"some of you are BARKING up the wrong tree.
woof woof
time to rust of my dadio" The first part mentioning barking and the second part with the "rust of my dadio" both make me think of the Jetson's dog Astro. Astro always used r's in front of all his words. So if Astro were to say "dust" instead he would say "rust" So, I think this clue was pointing us back towards the White Stripes' Astro lyric.
"perhaps this is a clue pointing you where to 'tree' the first good clue." Like djjd, I am from East Tennessee and as soon as I read this clue I caught the "coon" hunting reference. When you are "coon" hunting, your dogs "tree" the raccoons (or chase them up a tree). However in this area, the verb "tree" is often used to mean "catch" or "find". So, basically he is saying the new clue is just pointing us where to find the first good clue. I think this was just another clue telling us that some people were on the right track (i.e. Bonnaroo Detective) but we needed to dig deeper than just a band with "Edison" in it. Being that it is another dog reference, I think it leads us right back to Astro (which leads us to Bon Iver)
Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to get all that out there.
Ok... here is something I threw out on the speculation thread... we are supposed to "tree" the clue right... well trees are green... the clue in green was "radio."
Radiohead's album is called "In Rainbows"
I hope we are right with NY... but damn I wanna see Radiohead again!

i got this from an email to a UK site I go to:
Awash with critical acclaim after their one-off show last December, The Zep currently have festival-organisers eating out of their hands. Rumours suggest they'll be performing this summer, but it may not be in the UK with an American festival already confirmed (Bonarroo). It could all become a bit 'too much of a good thing' so the elderly rockers will probably only show a Whole Lotta Love to one or two fields this summer. Will ol' moneybags V Festival snatch the Mothership?

I take it that we are talking Page, Bonham, and Jones minus Plant?Whcih site is this from? This should go into the rumor or speculation thread as well.

How recent is that it kind of sounds like what was being said last year?
