the Dead were widely speculated in the spec. thread before the "barking up the right tree", but not seriously considered in the Clues thread until after the "barking up the wrong tree"

I think he's saying the first part of your post is right ... we have to focus on the dog-tree connection. but i think the second paragraph of your post is wrong, so we have to keep working on what it means.

"Involved revolved devolved evolved" to me that could represent a transfiguration...like the Transfiguration of Vincent by M. Ward?
The other half is the social networker...Zoey Deschanel...cuz she socially networked with M. Ward and the singer from Death Cab?
Another idea I was thinking about was Rage Against the Machine, since the AC/DC clue could reference a machine, the loss of personality could make you a machine. Also, Rage has definitely involved revolved devolved and evolved i.e. Rage and Audioslave. I really hope this isn't the case though, because I saw them at Coachella and Lolla and didn't really enjoy them.

Nah man. Especially at Lolla. Had to stop the show multiple times due to the crowd being violent. I bailed 20 minutes in and went to rock out with Wilco.
