From Tennessee Jed by The greatful dead
My dog he turned to me and he said Let's head back to Tennessee, Jed
The dog says "Let's head back to Tennessee, Jed" implying that they both are from TN, or at least been there. You could argue a dog that talks, "barks the loudest"
Is it just me or does anybody else see Outkast for this?
They are a split personality of sorts. Since the last true Outkast album (Stankonia), Andre' 3000 as done alot of evolving with stuff like "The Love Below" and Big Boi has guested on a TON of other people's songs (aka The Social Networker). Plus he breeds pitbulls for the dog reference. They each have a solo album due out this year plus an Outkast album is scheduled to drop as well. Here's to hoping.
the clue sounded long... i just caught it when it started. i heard something about farmhand here... and then some more of the dissovle part.... and then the end part of the clue.
"I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fücking special I wish I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here" -Radiohead
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin

I feel like we still need to crack the code about dogs and trees. Just about every clue has referred back to dogs and/or trees, so the clues must all be related somehow. It sounds like djjd is trying to tell us how to solve the clues - the stuff about treeing the first good clue, etc. But we're missing it. We can't figure out which TN dog barks the loudest if we don't even know who the dogs are.
The original posts that said we were barking up the wrong tree and the speculations thread was barking up the right tree would make US the dogs, since we're the ones doing the barking. Is it possible that a poster here is the TN dog who barks the loudest? I don't know who's from TN, but I know there are a lot of Tenneseans on here, so who's from Tennessee who's had some strong ideas about who they think is playing (probably that they've been talking about in the speculations thread)?
And I'm assuming our tree references are all like...trains of thought. We need to keep branching off of what we're coming up with and taking ideas a bit further, so it's a tree rather than just a train that's going linearly.
the one half .... has involved revolved devolved and evolved. No Devo is not playing Bonnaroo. The other half of split personality is the social networker
"Involved revolved devolved evolved" to me that could represent a transfiguration...like the Transfiguration of Vincent by M. Ward?
The other half is the social networker...Zoey Deschanel...cuz she socially networked with M. Ward and the singer from Death Cab?
Another idea I was thinking about was Rage Against the Machine, since the AC/DC clue could reference a machine, the loss of personality could make you a machine. Also, Rage has definitely involved revolved devolved and evolved i.e. Rage and Audioslave. I really hope this isn't the case though, because I saw them at Coachella and Lolla and didn't really enjoy them.
it could be a group with 2 members, one of which (the vocalist?) is from tennesee? i'm looking through the wikipedia page of musicians from tennessee right now....

plastic thats a good idea i think thats a great idea im from tn and my handle is a dogs name but im just guessing like everyone else
i do think that we need to look at the word "network" as possibly network tv? or something..like is there an announcer who talks about music on tv..maybe someone said something on tv as speculation and it was correct?

i wonder if these clues are leading to the superjam. that would be a tree of people and it would explain how fast the clues are coming... i know in the past its the last thing they announce. so maybe not? this is definitely harder this year!

Plastic- you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close but yet so far away. I mean, you are almost stepping in the dog poo.
