"I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fücking special I wish I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here" -Radiohead

I can totally see The Dead on the farm this year. they can play a late night act instead of headlining, like what Phil Lesh did last year.
I agree. And I'd think everyone would consider them bigger than WSP. So basically you'd be trading metallica>phish, pearl jam>bruce, wsp>the dead, Kanye>phish (not in the same time slots) I know I'd certainly take that.

i'm hoping that one of the headliner slots is something other than phish/classic-rock-act, with no disrespect to these bands at all. i'm just hoping they mix things up.
i'm not really sure what band should go in that "other" slot though (well, radiohead, if it was up to me, but that's not likely. phish/the dead/radiohead? would be the most epic roo ever.)

A question for all you dead heads. I've seen Weir and I've seen Lesh and friends(liked Lesh a lot better) when the dead play together, what style comes out more.

A little bit of both, but it will be different because there is no Jerry. It was Jerry's style that came out more than anything during the shows.
I think Warren Haynes will be an amazing person to join them and really look forward to seeing that.

hhmmmmm seems like their have to be more tour dates to be tacked on to that. They hit a lot of the east coast, dabble out west, but don't really cover the south. The only middle-America date is the one show in Chicago. Perhaps they withheld announcing the second leg of the tour because it would be an obvious tip off to a Bonnaroo appearance? I can only hope.

^^These dates do end conveniently in time for festie season! ;D
I'm definitely anticipating them to hit up multiple fests this summer. I mean, they pretty much have to... right? I love Jackie Green and Molitz and crew, but I'd almost be disappointed with a Phil & Friends show at a festie knowing that I could be seeing The Dead!

I'm only about 6 hours from Greensboro NC where The Dead will be kicking their tour off. I went to The Greensboro Coliseum's website to check out ticket prices. They start at $118.00! And that's probably for a crappy seat. I sure hope they come to Roo cause that's the only way I'll be able to see them.
If they come, just seeing them will justify more than half of the total cost of my Roo ticket.

yeah ticket prices haven't been announced yet... Every venue site that I'm looking at just says "Ticket Info: TBA" on it. I can't imagine that they'll be over $100 a ticket. I was expecting somewhere in the area of $50-60. Their show at Penn State - what was then considered to be a one time gig - went for just over $60
Having gotten into The Grateful Dead within the past year im excited for this tour and hope that there is a second leg that has them coming thru Ohio so I have an opportunity to check them out.
However im hoping that they are NOT at Bonnaroo. With Phish being all but a certainty at this point I think that 2 nights of Phish and The Dead is just too much jam. Im hoping for a little more variety with the headliners. Now if Phish isnt playing two nights then I would be more down for it but if Phish is indeed headlining 2 nights then I would def. rather have Bruce then The Dead.
